DVD Writer problem

Dear All, I am using a LG GSA H10A Super-Multi DVD writer for the last one year. I could see DVD videos but I am not able to open/see any data DVD's...I am unable to do backups...I have updated with current firmware...but the problem remains.

Use windows explorer and check the properties of the drive with a disk inserted. Some versions of DVD Burner have a radio button that chooses burn CD or burn DVD. This can be a gotcha if you don't know it is there.
