PC program for generating wiring diagrams

3 posts in this topic

What program do most engineers use to make wiring diagrams? Currently I use AutoCAD 2004 which is versatile but you obviously have to "stick build" the entire diagram which is tedious, and being that wiring diagrams are only a small part of my job I need something a *lot* quicker and more automated. Any suggesitions?

AutoCAD electrical looks like it has a lot of nice features that would make our lives easier. I haven't taken the time to learn them though, so I too do everything by hand in plain-vanilla autoCAD :)

I used VIA, which then AutoCad bought them out and now became AutoCAD Electrical. Before that, I made menus and used that, you can download them here: http://forums.mrplc.com/index.php?autocom=downloads&showfile=146 AE has saved about 50% in engineering time for me.
