SLC 5/05 memory

Hi Guys. I am reading the literature on the A/B website about the CPU for the SLC series and I see a tab for "memory devices" Doesn't the 5/05 come with memory? Why would I need to buy a seperate module? Thanks

The SLC-5/05 has built-in RAM memory, which is backed up by an onboard capacitor and replaceable battery. The accessory modules you see in the catalog are EEPROM nonvolatile memory modules, which will hold the user program indefinitely without power or battery. They are particularly good for systems that are mothballed for months or years, or can be subject to erasure or damage by electrical spikes.
