  1. CX-One V1.1

It seems that it was a glitch with their website. I was able to get in there today so when I find my key I will register and then DL 1.1
  2. CX-One V1.1

I cant seem to find an american download and when I go to the EU download that is linked at the top of this page it doesn't let me log in... I enter my username and my password and it just takes me back to the login page with no message or anything Any hints?
  3. NS terminal

Yes, this would be a neat feature to me as well. Currently you have to assign a static IP to the Touchscreen and the ETN modules of the PLC. You also have to then make the PC on the same network IP schema (only the last octet can change) This makes it difficult for me when I try to use them even on a corporate network (My desk right now has 2 PC's, 1 barcode reader, and 1 touchscreen all on a network, but I have to assign all of them static IP's so that I can have the PLC and the NS screen working. (the BCR is capable of DHCP as well as the computers, but I cant use this right now) Anyone with advice on this topic, or anyone who has connections with the development of Omron PLC's want to bring up the Idea of being able to Name the ETN or NS and then use DHCP/DNS/etc?
  4. Omron PLC data collection

Yeah, I dont like to see people abusing a helpful resource like this with advertisements or attempts to make money off of people.
  5. Omron PLC data collection

I would be interested in seeing the source-code for something like this. I have been tinkering with something similar. Although, your post seems like its an advertisement
  6. Omron PLC + compute with Visual studio?

Yeah, I had to run it in VB6. The issue was that it didn't like the fact that my first 8 com ports were in use and I had to change which com ports it looked for.
  7. Omron PLC + compute with Visual studio?

I tried to use this program sample you mentioned, and I get a ton of errors with it, and it never runs. Is there something special that I need to know about it? Also, is it supposed to be read only? I wanted to run it from the IDE, but it wont allow me to without saving a copy. EDIT: I managed to figure out how to get teh errors to stop. Unfortunately its still a read only program.
  8. Using a CJ/CS to talk to a SQL database

Ok, I have been looking for a clear answer, and even reading through old posts here via the search feature I am still not 100% clear. As the title says, I would like to know if its possible using a CJ or CS PLC with an ethernet module to talk directly to a networked SQL database. What I am looking to do is create a "smart conveyor" that will use an RVSI Hawkeye 1515 barcode reader to scan a part that is entering the conveyor. I then want it to talk to the same SQL database that the rest of the assembly line will talk to, and using the barcode it just received, determine if the part should be at the conveyor or if it should be elsewhere. I will then control what the conveyor does with the part (send it to the next station, or send the board to a reject area) I already have 90% of this project done on another conveyor, but this one would need to talk to the database. Is this possible with the ETN modules?? I know I can send strings from the DM or EM, but my work wont approve my PO's for parts unless I can find out before starting that I can do it from the PLC and not need a computer. Thanks in advance for your advice.
  9. Using a CJ/CS to talk to a SQL database

Well, It seems that it does accept sockets. Apparently its the only way to connect to our database. I will look into it more. Anyone have any suggested places to read about it?
  10. Using a CJ/CS to talk to a SQL database

I will ask my DBA... I know how to access the DB using C#, but they wanted me to see if I could do it with a PLC.
  11. UM Property

I have a PLC that I am trying to dowload a program to, and it is saying that it cannot download because the PLC's UM Property is protected. Can anyone tell me what this is and how to fix it? this is a new PLC.
  12. UM Property

its a CPM1A... I actually misread what the error was.. it is saying that the UM Property is set for read only.
  13. Function Block updates (and/or CX-One)

Hey guys, I have been looking all day and cant find any information either way from the web. Hopefully someone here has the information I seek. I was hoping to find a place where I can get already created FB's from the CJ series. Anyone know if there is a place where omron is allowing people to update their FB libraries off of a standard location?? I heard talk that they were goign to be doing this somewhere. Another thing, related to, but slightly different, is omron goign to be offering free upgrades for minor revisons? Such as 1.0 to 1.1? (obviously I would expect to have to pay for a 1.0 to 2.0)
  14. Function Block updates (and/or CX-One)

Thank you =o) it turns out I actually had that page in my bookmarks
  15. Can't use IR100 in instruction?

I have done that so many times!!
  16. NS Screen Size

Ok. Thats what I thought... The information I had was wrong. It showed that the NS 10 and NS12 were same size and the NS5 and NS8 were same size. Thank you.
  17. NS Screen Size

Can someone help me? I need to know what the size is for the NS5 touchscreen. I have found conflicting reports of its size, and was hoping someone who has access to one could tell me its dimensions. I have seen 196x142x54mm and 232mm x 177mm x 48.5mm. Can someone please help me to find the right dimension?
  18. Feel stupid for asking, but

The NS8 Touch Screen will interface with the CQM1H-CPU51 right? I typically use only CJ/CS when I am doing machines that will have touchscreens, but I am only doing the display on this project and not the PLC. I just want to verify that it will work before I order.
  19. Feel stupid for asking, but

Ok.. thats what I thought. I just got a little spooked when I started thinking too hard about it. thanks =o)
  20. Comm failure...

Are you changing the comm settings when you download? The Default in NS designer has comm B off. Did you change this in your program so that when its downloading it doesn't turn off comm B? (if you didn't make any changes to the system settings while in NS designer then you did not enable comm B and its overwriting what is in the NS screen during its download)
  21. Convert a 12v input to 24v so PLC detects change

The easiest solution would be to connect the +24 to the pin 14 of your op-amp where you currently have the +12V
  22. C200H connection

looks like (acording to your posts) that I have the wrong RS232 cable. By "normal" I meant a standard type from any store. The one that is needed is a Custom Cable. I will have to get one tomorrow or make one. Thank you for the help once again!
  23. C200H connection

Ok, I looked through the downloads section, but maybe I missed it. I am trying to connect to a C200H-CPU21. I thought the module used to connect was a 3G2A6-LK201-EV1 with a normal 9-pin to 25-pin RS232 cable, but I cant seem to auto-online with the PLC. Can anyone tell me if I at least have the right cables?
  24. Function Block Protection

any insider information on when that comes out or what we can expect to pay for the upgrade?
  25. NS screens...

Something I decided today was that the NS touchscreens need to have a Right-Angle Rotate reature. Without a lot of creative graphic work, there is no way to have an NS screen sitting on its side and be viewable normally. I think this would be very handy to have as sometimes is better to have a tall, narrow screen instead of a short wide one.
