  1. if you think you got the skills, desgin a circuit and a PLC program ASAP and e-mail or post it. Thanks I have my son working on this as you have requested but we will need to be compensated for the new box of crayolas and the new pad of paper that he needed to accomplish the task. Also, I hope the SLC500 format that you mentioned is the same SLC500 that we use. We use the Smart Little Child rev 5.0.0 [sLC500]. Code will be posted once payment has been received. It has been a pleasure doing business with you and I hope to continue this relationship in the future.
  2. Post you programs. That will be the simplest. Or I will create one later tonight or in the morning and post it.
  3. Does the Float data table exist in the ML and does the tag address and match what is actually in the ML1100?
  4. I have a new 2003 server that was setup for a domain but now it is to be switched to workgroup. Is this something that can be reconfigured without much trouble or is this a case where we should just start from scratch? Also, I am very green when it comes to this stuff. Thanks,
  5. Long shot here but does anyone have or know of access to Epson Stylus C62 printers for parts or the whole unit? We need parts out of an old unit to repair our terminal tab printer. Thanks
  6. Omron Online Editing

I got it working. Thank you for the reply.
  7. Omron Online Editing

I have only used AB so this is my first go with Omron. I need to change DM150 in a CQM1 CPU21 to another value. I was able to get online with this unit and I was able to transfer the DM from the PLC and was able to view it on my laptop. To do the edit is it just the case of type in a new value and send the Selection to the PLC? I wasn’t able to test this as they were shutting down so I will be back in the morning. Also the current value is 98 Hex which is equal to 152 in decimal. The help files mention the Set Value [sV] is in .1 sec intervals so if this is the case then this timer is currently set for 15.2 seconds. I am correct or all wet? Thanks
  8. Omron Online Editing

    Thank you.
  9. Log data from CompactLogix

I have not used it yet but I will be soon. XLReporter http://www.thereportcompany.com/
  10. Micrologix 1200 Input Map

For what it is worth, I change my view properties as Mickey mentioned and my data files do changes as to how they are displayed.
  11. The KB 8274 gives the % and the steps while loading. At 40% it is Connecting to Server and Sets Licensed tag limit of licence into the tag database (ICE) subsystem.<h3 id="rn_summary"> </h3>
  12. Tim, I think these two from AB fit the 480 Single phase 1606-XLP90E-2 and 1606-XLP100E-2 but you didn't mention what size. I will assume Phoenix Contact would have something also. Hope this helps.
  13. I don't know if this will solve your issue but I thought I would throw it out there just in case.... It has been a few years but I had problems with the backup and transport utility from Rockwell. Our work around and it came from the local Rockwell rep was to just zip the file since that's all the utility was doing. No more problems. Also, I don't think the project can be running while doing either of the above. Hope this helps.
  14. Mickey and Alaric, Thank you for your help. Bob
  15. I am going to assume the AO is 4-20 mA and I know the hardware is a Flex 1794-OE4. Has anyone ever been asked to short the analog out [Example terminals A-0 to A-1] of the card under a certain set of safety conditions or any condition? The terminals would be shorted using a set of contacts from a relay. Thanks
  16. Alaric, Here is what they are proposing. Analog_Output.bmp
  17. Mickey, I am told they want to do this to force the signal to 0 and in turn force the valve to the closed position.
  18. The input addresses on the base would look like I:0/0 - I:0/11 and the outputs would be O:0/0 - O:0/11. If you were to add a 16 pt Input card to the base then the addresses would be I:1/0 - I:1/15 Hope this helps
  19. rsview32 datalogging

I’m not a datalog expert but I’ll give it a shot until someone else comes along. 1. Create your datalog and use ODBC. 2. Create a query in MS Access to select the data you want. 3. Build a report based on that query. If you have never done this before there is going to be a fun learning curve. I hope this gets you started and is helpful.
  20. Over the past two weeks one of our customers [ waste water treatment plant] has been getting hit with sever thunderstorms with lightning strikes and it has faulted the SLC three times that I know. The second time I had to travel out there and trouble shoot the faulty I/O cards. The panel does have surge suppression on the incoming power which then goes through an isolation transformer and from there out to the field devices and the rest of the panel. What have you guys/gals used to isolate/protect your systems from a lightning strike coming in on the field device wiring? Thanks, Bob
  21. Two times they were able to recover from the fault but I had to replace one AO and one AI on the expansion rack when I was out there. I assume this is all lightning related since it happen during sever storms with a lot of lightning strikes. Thanks
  22. I am thinking about setting up my RSView32 Messenger to call my cell phone if certain conditions exist but I do not have an analog phone line to my server. All of our phones in the office are digital and I ‘m told that getting an analog phone line would be difficult. The local TRC group said they do not know much about the phone stuff but I should try it. I search the knowledgebase but nothing jumped out at me. So, does anyone have any pointers or places to look to find out how to call a cell phone from my server using digital? This little project is more of a “can I do it” type project then anything. Thanks, Bob

  24. I developed some screens in FT SE for a distributed application on my desktop at work and they look great but when viewing them on other computers [The server and one of the clients] they look honorable color wise. I have never worked on a distributed application so I never had to concern myself with this. What do the rest of you do to keep the screens looking the same as the developed ones or what am I doing wrong? Thanks
