Ken, Your guess may be valid. I do have to log in under one name to get on the network and then another to the server. They did this because they enable/created a roaming profile which "screwed things up" so we had to change the log in name on the server other wise my desktop profile was loaded onto the server every time I logged in. Thanks, I will look into that. Bob O.

Chuck, I do not think you have to buy their dongle, I believe you can use a USB memory stick instead if it has a serial number that can be referenced.

The activation can be checked out for X amount of time if needed. Example Say you need to make a change out in the field, you could load or “check an activation out of the pool” if you have it set up on concurrent and then set the amount of time from, I think a day to months and after this time period the activation is no longer good and is reactivated in the pool. Hope that make some sense, Bob O.

I have search, with out success to find the utility that will allow you to transfer the RS activations to a USB thumb drive. If I remember correctly, there is a link on this site or over at Phil’s but I cannot seem to find it at either place or at ab’s site. Any help is appreciated. Bob

My understanding is that the computer needs Internet access or they can email you an activation file and you install it in a specific directory. I had them email me the file and it was not a problem. When I called them, they ask for the serial number of my software and the serial number of my hard drive [Factory Talk looks on your computer and lists the serial number of components on your computer that the activation can reference to for activation] after this they will do "something" to this file that they send you that will include the above. Hope this make some sense, Bob O.

Micrologix 1100 First Impressions

TWControls, I was able to communicate with my camera, but just curious about the routing table and what it does. Just using it as a learning exercise is all. Another thing I noticed is that you cannot MSG a String unless the target device is a 485CIF device just like before in the ML1500 but it would be nice if you could. I use the PLC5Write in my set-up to communicate. -
Micrologix 1100 First Impressions
Bob O replied to TimWilborne's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
I was able to complete my bench test here at home. My goal was to use the ML1100 to communicate with a DVT camera over Ethernet. I was able to do this with a ML1500 and an ENI mod so I figured I could also do it with a ML1100 for a lot less money. Now for the question, what is that routing table doing for me other then it has to be there in my case? The help files do not say much if anything that I found and the knowledge base was not much help either. Thanks, Bob O. P.S. Thanks for the heads up about online editing, I do not normally do it since I mostly work with ML family but it will give me something new to tinker with. -

Mickey, Thank you. Bob -
The smartlist is DV'T's way of a forum. I think they had a forum in the past but it was hacked so they switch to this. Here is a link… http://www.dvtsensors.com/support/SmartListManager.php Edit: You will need to copy and paste the link. For some reason my links are not working when I copy and paste into a thread

TWControls, Thank you for the time and effort you put into this. I am attempting to MSG out of Channel 1 and I am running into the same problems you encountered. I have opened the Tech Note about the CIP settings but the new settings screen doesn’t display. I have tried this on two different computers. Could someone post the new settings? Thanks, Bob O. -
Smoke, I don’t know if I can help but if you post your system file and tell me what version of Frameworks you are using I would be happy to play will it. I use Intellect and have not done much with scripts but would be happy to try to help. You could also send it to the Smartlist and I am sure someone would help. Bob O.

Got it. Thanks, Bob

Looking for some recommendations for a pulsed rate indicator or flow transducer for a 50/50 mixture of H2O and Glycol. My flow rates exceed 100GPM. I have found some at Omega Engineering but looking for other options and recommendations. Thanks, Bob

Hi Jeff, I am no expert but look at this thread; http://forums.mrplc.com/?showtopic=6433 It may give you a place to start until others have had a chance to reply. Good Luck! Bob O -
Hi Kevin, Do you have a model number of the sensor? Should be something like…6026223 Is this a DC through Beam Sensor? I found the VS/VE 12 models but could not fine one that had a 5 in the PN. Thanks, Bob

It is just crazy to have to go through this. I double check with head of tooling, since it is his equipment, I am protecting, and he is the “customer” and asked if external adjustments would be ok? Does anyone want to guess the answer? The list of possibilities is getting shorter. Thanks, Bob
-
Alaric, I check with ifm again and the units without the external buttons will not work in this application. Thanks Again, Bob

Camel, I have been lazy in keeping my home computer up to date and you are correct that I should keep it up to date. I will look into SP2 or what ever the latest version is. Thnaks, Bob

TWControls, Thanks for you reply. I had Norton a couple years ago but removed it for some reason that I do not remember now. I think it was causing problems with Rockwell Software. Thanks Again, Bob O.

Update I am waiting for a quote from Emerson and since I am on vacation today, I will not see it until Monday. I have a system in place and working but "if" the operators just crack the gate valve to provide enough flow [6-8 GPM] to trip my current flow switch, a Dwyer blade type, they can continue and possibly do damage $$$ to our tooling. Maybe I failed when I accepted the answer for the amount of flow need when originally doing this "just need to know if there is flow or not" Vent I do not mind doing improvements but it gets old when management does not hold their people accountable for simple tasks. End Vent Thanks, Bob

Alaric and gravitar, Just to make sure I wasn't missing something, I called ifm and ask if they had a unit without the external buttons. No luck. You can lock them but they can also be unlocked just as gravitar mentioned. gravitar I will look into that link later tonight when I get home…I think or I plan Thanks Again, Bob

All, Thanks for the replies and the links. I looked at a three and have narrowed it down to two options at this time, the Signet 3-2540 and the Gems FS-200 Series. I have played with the IFM Efector model but I don't want and external adjustment on the unit. Any opinions on the durability of these two units? http://www.gfsignet.com/products/pdf/2540-41-17spec.pdf http://www.gemssensors.com/SearchSeriesPN.asp?sSearch=fs-200&nQuestionID= Thanks, Bob

Ron, Thanks for the link. I will look at their products. Bob

Kevin, First off, your caps buttons is stuck on. Have you search on the net for the Sick sensor you are asking about, I googled and found this http://www.sick.de/de/products/categories/...witches/en.html
