  1. I chainged out the cable I was using to the Belden Datatuff. That seemed to solve the problem. Thanks folks!
  2. plc-2 software?

That is a good idea. I inquired to AB about the cost and the person I talked to wasn't positive about the price but it was close to $4,000! I'll take your advice and find someone just to upload for me.Thanks!
  3. I have a few machines that are being rebuilt that have plc-2 processors. I want to upload the program to get some kind of idea as to what the program is doing in order to upgrade to a Logix. Does the software still exist? can I get it from AB? Supposedly, the OEM can't locate the program but they are willing to come to us and help for an enormous fee.
  4. Thanks guys. Took the advice and it worked out well:)
  5. Thanks for your assistance. I will try these ideas and let you know how it goes/
  6. Hello Again. I asked a question Friday about networking compactlogix and flex I/O over ethernet. Thanks for the help so far folks! My problem now is this: I have established communication from the Compactlogix to a Hirschmann Spider 5tx switch within a few feet of the compactlogix. I also connected the Flex I/O ethernet adapter to the switch at a distance of around five feet. Communication is established and all is well. The problem now is that when I connect a longer run of cable from the switch to the Flex I/O, around 100', I cannot communicate. I have tried making new cable a few times, putting the switch about half way between the two modules and closer to one or the other module, and tried isolating all of the equipment and hooking it up in a new location away from any possible interference. I'm stumped! Any suggestions? Thanks on advance.
  7. So far so good. The only problem I ran into(aside from the archaic mechanical design of the machine) was figuring out how to avoid overlap but after some reading and trial and error programming, I was able to trigger the event properly. Thanks again.
  8. Thanks for the info. I'll try the event task and see how it works and let you know what happens.
  9. SLC error code

There is an error somewhere in your logic. I'd have to see it but it may clear if you power down.
  10. I'm converting a program from RS500 to RS5000 but am getting stuck on what I need to use in place of the DII instruction on RS500. Any suggestions? The 500 subroutine consists of 4 rungs:1st is the IIM,2nd is a rung that enables/disables a solenoid at a high rate of speed, 3rd is the IOM, and 4th is the return. Thanks!
  11. DL260 to G2 Drive

Thanks...I'll give it a try Tom
  12. Motor current monitor on Devicenet

...For the particular application I have, there would be several motors but all under 5 hp with very little cycling. The bigger drives are VFD. Sounds like a winner to me.. Thanks Tom
  13. I know this isn't really a PLC topic but does anyone use AB's 193-EC overload relays? I am looking for an inexpensive way to monitor motor current over a network and this OL seemed interesting...Any info would be appreciated!
  14. DL260 to G2 Drive

I would like to use Modbus for communication between a DL260 processor and a G2 Drive. The manual gives a wiring diagram for the DL250 to G2 drive but not the DL260. I called automation direct tech support and the person I talked to didn't know either........ ....Can anyone give me some direction? Is there an off the shelf cable I could use?
  15. RSView ME or RSView SE?

Thanks! The rep I talked to wasn't very specific about what I would need to do....go figure.
