  1. LK-401 communications error

After being able to do some more troubleshooting, I've found that the problem is following specific nodes numbers, not the hardware. Now the problem has expanded to nodes 4-6 (of 0-6) (regardless of physical position). I'm now seeing only the run indicator solid green and flashing red error indicator. Any ideas? Thanks!

Bob - Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately no RT 201/202 cards in the system. Regards, - Evan
  3. LK-401 communications error

I am seeing a communication error on a series of (7) C200H PLC units connected by LK-401 link units, AL-001 link adapters. Setup: - all 7 link units show flashing red error indicator. - Link 0 position and first 4 PLC's (first 4 in terms of physical wiring, node addresses are 2-5) show "Run", "This" and "Link 0" indicators lit, "other" indicator out. - Last two PLC's (last in terms of physical wiring, node addresses 1 and 6 respectively) cycle through various configurations of indicators shown. - Last two PLC's not transmitting alarms, etc. - SW1/SW2 - 0/[node number] - SW3/SW4 - 3/2 - SW5/SW6 - to the right / to the right - SW7 - pins 1-2, 4-8 OFF, pin 3 ON Troubleshooting so far: - I check the SR 250 areas and they show an error flag for the last two units when looking from another node. When looking from one of those nodes, shows error flag for the last two units plus Link 0 unit. - I've tried swapping LK401 units out on the last two units with known good and no change. - I did resistance check looping pin 5->9 from Link 0 position down to each node and found good readings (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 ohms respectively) Maybe a grounding problem? Not sure what else to check. Any ideas would be helpful!!! Regards, - Evan

  5. Unable to Upload Full Program from CQM1-CPU21

Thanks for the suggestions! I don't have an Omron USB adapter, but I've tested the one I use and it seems ok. I tried toggling the DIP switch for user defined expansions instructions to ON, cycled power, and same result. I tried connecting to another Omron PLC (C200H) that I've connected to before using another older laptop, but it had the same result with this laptop. The older laptop (that successfully connects to C200H) runs an old version of Syswin, so i don't *think* it would work with the CQM1. All this makes me think the problem is with my CX settings. Any suggestions for what I need to do on CX-Programmer v 4.01 to get it talking?
  6. I am trying to upload the program from a CQM1-CPU21 using CX v. 4.1. Setup: using CPM1-CIF01 interface unit to a seriel to USB converter to my laptop. Dipswitches at the unit are set at 1, 2, 4, 5 --> OFF; 3, 6 --> ON. Problem: I try to auto connect. I get a message that says "Modem port has been selected. Do you wish to continue?" I say 'Yes'. Next message is "Failed to upload the expansion functions". I click 'OK'. Next message is "Failed to upload the settings". I click 'OK'. Finally, the program appears to upload, but it mainly just has alot of "????" lines and NOP commands. The program that is running currently is operational. I thought maybe it had to do with the modem, so I disabled the modem. Then, it would fail to connect at all. I considered setting #4 DIP switch (Expansion instructions set by user) to ON, but I wasn't sure if I had to power the unit down completely to do that... Or maybe some other problem? Any suggestions??? Regards, Evan
