  1. Does anyone have experience using ModSim32 to simulate a network for Wonderware? I have a project built for a client on InTouch ver 10.1 and I installed ModSim32 to my computer to test connections but I haven't had any luck connecting the two. All the manuals I find detail how to connect and configure a Modbus I/O server which the process doesn't seem to apply the same way for the simulator. And Wonderware isn't even recognizing that ModSim is there to connect to. Modbus is a offered selection but it doesn't equate the ModSim to Modbus. I've looked around for drivers but haven't found anything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  2. ArchestrA Graphics

I have been working on a project using WonderwareDevelopment Studio Ver 10.1A running on a VM (OS= Windows 7 32bit). I built my applications and windows in a Galaxy in ArchestrA IDE and now I need to move the applications to a server (OS= Windows 7 32bit) that is running a Runtime only version of Wonderware Ver 10.1A. When I attempt to import my windows intoa new application that I created on my VM (which I planned on saving the application and moving to the server where I intended to open and run it) I get the error message: "One or more windows failed to import since they containArchestrA graphics. Please see ArchestrA Logger for more details." I cannot find the ArchestrA logger or anything in the help menu about it. How do I fix this problem of getting a window that contains ArchestrA graphics to import into an application in InTouch WindowMaker or is that not possible? Any advice would be helpful. I'm currently talking to Wonderware tech support as well but haven't heard anything back yet.
  3. Problems installing Digi

I have recently received a Digi One IA from a client and I am trying to connect to a virtual machine on my laptop so I can send information from Wonderware to an external server connected to a controller. I was never given a instillation CD and I have had trouble finding any downloadable drivers online. Please help, I am unable to install the Digi on my laptop.
  4. SCADA and VMWare Workstation 8

I have never worked with iFIX but I have to run my Wonderware from a VM and the first time I set it up I had the same problem getting my applications to open or run it turned out that one of the Microsoft Updates required to support the VM had failed to install successfully; after going to Microsoft and re-installing the necessary software my programs ran fine. I doubt that is your problem but make sure you have everything to support your VM.
  5. Training for Industrial Electronics

In what city do you live? You might want to look for any Technical colleges or institutes in your area. They offer more industry specific courses than community colleges and would probably have what you are looking for. I got my associates degrees in instrumentation and EPC from TSTC Waco which was near Baylor and Mclennan Community College. Unless you were looking for it it would have been over-shadowed by the other schools. Also I knew students whose employers were willing to supplement the cost of tuition on classes that directly pertained to the area of work (i.e Foundation Feildbus or AC/DC Drives). Good Luck!
  6. Wonderware window sizing

I made some changes to the resolutions of Viewer and Maker before ever opening a window and I haven't had any problems yet. Thank you!
  7. Wonderware window sizing

I recently installed Wonderware Development Studio Consignment ver 10.1A onto my computer. When I created new windows in WindowMaker I gave them a certain size (height 800, width 1000) before naming and saving them. But when I switch to run-time in WindowView the dimensions of the window change (example: height of 752, width of 491) causing the graphics within to distort. When I switch back to development in WindowMaker the window shrinks even more (ex: h= 512, w= 322). The window and the graphics have to be re-sized after every switch from WindowView to WindowMaker. I've tried changing the dimensions in the main window properties and re-saving, deleting the window and creating a new one, all with the same problem. There is no set amount the windows re-size by, the dimensions are a totally new set of values each time. I was wondering if anyone else had encountered this problem before and if so how to fix it? I have also been trying WW tech-support but haven't had a viable solution yet.
