  1. I'm new to all of this so please bear with me, and forgive any ignorance :D We had an Ultra 5000 drive fail on us recently. It powers up fine, but it's in need of repair. We ordered in a replacement and would like to pull the program off the old unit and put it on the new one. Here is what I have encountered ... 1) I can't connect to the old unit (Ultra 5000) using Ultraware. The drive does not show up at all. 2) I've tried to connect to another good working unit (Ultra 5000) and no luck there either. 3) I can connect to the new unit (Ultra 5000 also) using Ultraware. I see the drive show up in Ultraware. The units in 1 & 2 above were not programmed by us. Is there a possibility they are locked out somehow? Do I need to set the communication switch (MSD & LDS) settings to some other setting than what they are using during their auto run? Thanks, Jeff
  2. I did try that yesterday on the bad unit. However, I was using a computer that could not see any of the units (not even the new unit). I have since switched PC's and with the new PC I can see the new unit, but not the older ones (working and bad unit). Think it would be safe to do a Recover Communications on a good working unit? Right now I don't have the bad unit setup, only a New unit and Working unit. I don't want to mess up the one good unit I have. My other options is to pull the new unit out again and put the bad unit back in, which may happen. Then i can try a Recover Communications.
