  1. Micrologix 1400 rev B can talk to ModbusTCP and and Compactlogix can talk to the Micrologix  Cheaper and easier
  2. "nativeaddressingtagname" in place of the micrologix style f8:0 I've been told it works but haven't tried it yet.

    There is no support in the MSG function but I've heard there's a way to used the ascii functions to perform modbus communications.
