I did it both ways and neither one ever updated. I am guessing I have something messed up with the OB10 block but I can't find a description that tells me how to set it up. Well I did but it doesn't give me enough specific examples to figure out what they are talking about. My CPU uses a software clock instead of a hardware clock but I don't know if that makes any difference. Thanks for the tip though.

Hi ... I have an S7-313C-2DP plc that I am trying to access the system clock in. I have attempted to use the SFC1 function but I am not having any success. It just doesn't seem to write the Date/Time Stamp to the output of the function. I only need it to update every minute or so and I have tried various triggering methods but I am sure at this point I am missing something simple. If anyone can help me out I would certainly appreciate it!!

The Vision software doesn't point to any address and the PLC can't point to anything in the Vision program. The Vision system is supposed to look like a PLC5 to the PLC so an address is required in the setup screen but the Vision only looks at the number of elements it is supposed to capture. At least that is what their help files and tech support people tell me. My processor is OS501 Series C FRN 10 and later (I don't know the specific FRN) The MSG instruction doesn't give an error code but it doesn't appear to finish the instruction either as the DN bit never gets set. The vision support people want the Continuous Run bit to be set and no conditions on the rung to manage the MSG instruction. Won't that give me problems in the buffer?? Good grief!! Now it is working and I didn't change a thing in either program. Thanks for your help!!

Has anyone here ever set up an ethernet ip communication between a SLC 5/05 plc and a Dalsa/ipd VA61 vision appliance?? I have set up the MSG instruction using the parameters supplied by Dalsa but I'm not getting any data transfer. I can ping the PLC successfully from the vision system so I know at least that the ethernet connection is functioning. If anyone can help me I will supply more details. Thanks!!

Thanks for the info. I assume if I have a backup of the original I can download that to the PLC? Assuming that is the case is it possible to remove the password from the configuration somewhere before I put it back?

Is there a way to reset or change the password level of a LM 90 Micro if you don't have the original password available to you? I am unfamiliar with GE PLC's and any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. I have not found anything in the manuals I downloaded yet.
