  1. Syswin and CX-Prog ... what gives?

Yesterday i was at a site, starting a new system when there in-house electrician (a real nive fellow) asked me to give him a little help. He had received a 3 day trainning on S7 products and what do you know ... the boss asked him to install, program and run a new CPM1A equiped system. The PLC was in error. (9B or something like it) Red light flashing. So before I left the place I told him I had 15 minutes and it would be sufficient to solve whatever the problem was In his lappy he had CX-programmer and used a CIF02 converter. Was not able to connect and go online. The error was ... missing END statement or DM6600 and above registers where wrongly setup. I tryed all communication setups and still it would not go online nor up or download. After a few minutes I connected Syswin and whent online. Zeroed all regisaters above 6600. Cycled power and the error disapeared. My question is "Why could I not go online with CX whyle with Syswin it was a peace of cake?" Any ideas?
  2. I have used USR56K with an SLC5/03 and configured it using MrPLC's article : http://www.mrplc.com/kb/index.php?page=ind...ex_v2&id=9&c=11 Now I cannot get the EZ220 to talk to the SLC anymnore ... I need to get this modem AND the HMI to talk to the darn AB PLC. Any hints?
  3. The problem happens when I configure the protocol to be Full duplex modem. All else is OK but what is this f... d... modem protocol?
  4. Operator Interface

In the past I had to display some amazing characters and I used bitmap images. Poping them up like text ... it worked!
  5. deep dodo

Come on guys, how did the movie ended? A most interresting situation.
  6. Would post the brand and model of the EM push button. It looks really small. I use Télémécanique/SquerD 22mm but they are a bit big to cary in my laptop case.
  7. With all the troubles we ear with the newer OS and new softwares not supporting well a single serial port ... do you have any com problems when you use so many cerials ... How is it setup in your ware. Multiple windows with same programming ware or what?
  8. Mitsubishi plc system password

I personnaly use a freeware called Portmon version 3.2 It very easy to crak a Mitsu PLC .... You can find the warez at PORTMON V 3.2 for all the MS flavors. For those willing to try her what you do. Start your PLC programming ware Start Portmon . Once this is done... Try to upload the PLC program to your PC You will be asked for a password Write 00000000 in the password field Start the CAPTURE function of Portmon Click to accept password You will receive a message that its not the good password END the CAPTURE function of Portmon Now check your Portmon screen and look for a serie of 8 time the value of ZERO. The real password is sitting right beside it. All this is in HEX of course.
  9. I was called the other day to solve a problem. I solved it but there is some other things that looked bizarre! I could not play with the system but saw this. The Citect SCADA system is flashing a COM error . So it means it has lost the comunication with the PLC BUT ... on the PLC com module the lights TX RX keep flashing. I don't thinck it has really lost it. The Citect SCADA has 2 station connected through Ethernet and a BIG database for trends and alarms (they keep up to a full year) but the database in on another PC. When I use the primairy station I never get this alarm. When I use the secondairy station the alarm goes on. It goes off about 5 seconds after it has gone ON. The TX-RX lights never scease to blink and I get no errors in the PLC. (Gee its hard to explain in english) Could that be that the SCADA just overshoot its allowed time for data retreival for dispaly and at this point looses com (internaly).
  10. Got to get me one like this. Real nice.
  11. Whose leading the industry?

If I where to sell some equipments everywhere in the world and needed to develop 3 programs for different PLCs in order give my customers option where they would not have to ask for another choice... my 3 PLCs would be AB (SLC-5/03) Siemens (S7-300) Mitsubishi (Q02H) Other brands owuld do but they would be my prefered choices.
  12. help on choosing project

Look around you. In everyday life. You need to make something better and faster. You need something you walke by every day. Something you have easy access.
  13. AC and DC grounds

And of course you have never touched any live wires. And of course you have never worked on live wires. And of course you have never shorted a live wire. And of course you have never given any answers to the original question. Blablabla.
  14. AC and DC grounds

I personnaly never connect any DC supply to ground. It does carry more noise but it has saved a few CPU. When you put 120Vac to a 24 Vdc input and that is an isolated input nothing will happen IF the common dc supply IS NOT grounded. So I am never afraid to "play" live with the dc signals. If I short it... well its not a short :)
  15. CATIA

Last time I checked she was out with Sandra buying chrismass presents. And you know how those two can go crazy at Wallmart!
  16. ERR. LED

Some Mitsu modules will do an error checking of there I/O signals specifically the 24 Vdc supply during the first scan. Sometime you have no power to the device before you engage the PLC in Run mode. For instance RUN set an output that engages the dc power to some part of the circuit and you use this supply to the module. During this short time the first scan has detected something missing but its already to late. I wire the dc supply directly to the module and put the safety interlocking relays after the outputs.
  17. Leased Line Modem & Q Series

You bet I have! I have played around for a full month with this module and an USR56K modem. First tryed to setup the card directly with CPU configuration and some line of code. Then tryed with GX-ConfigurstorSC Then, after Mitsu's tech got so tired of earing my complaints 'cause they where telling me they had the same setup as I in there shop and it was working... they arrange for a visit to my shop. God was I waiting for them with a baseball bat! They ended up canceling there visit and they send me another brand of modem. It work the first time I connected to it. Case closed.
  18. I have used the article in this site to connect an SLC5/03 via Modem and it works perfectly. My settings where: ... and also ... Now the problem I have is that I cannot establish a direct link with my Laptop. I use Autoconfig but it does connect. My HMI (EZ220 from AD) will also not connect to this PLC with those modem com settings. I have another empty CPU and it does connect OK, so my cables and stuff are correct. Any suggestions.
  19. I could use my PIC box but I prefer not. 'cause its not real good with XP and also my HMI cannot go with a DH485 device. it only has a serial port. Can I not have a communication configuration that can be connected to by a modem AND by my laptop serial port? Just like I do with all the other PLC I connect to....

Have a look at Phoenix or OMNEX they have good product for such needs.
  22. How can I make a bargraph on an E150

Hum! That is not a nice piece of code
  23. Filter crusher

Ask the sales Rep. to quote you a Learnig or Starting Kit. Most brand have them. They come with a PLC the cable the programming software and a manual for you to learn the basics. Its very usefull and you can sometimes choose a PLC model . Its not always the smalles one.
  24. You will not ear from it. THEY (Mitsubishi) are not at all pleased to sell this. I have known about it and requested a quote. They first told me it did not exist. Then it did. For all I know, this unit was built specially for one big OEM client. Its a nice way to have an Ethernet to a Fx PLC When you get it you have all sorts of problem with patches from Beijer but in the end it works great.
  25. Specificaly the units I'm talking about are E150ET which have an Ethernet port. Maybbe this was the cause for the need of a higher power source... I had to use 6Volts before the unit stop failling.
