    Hi, I am New!

Profile Information

  • Country United States
  1. We have a pair of old PLC-5's (5/40's) that are backed up using BCM modules. I am considering changing out the processors to 5/40E's to allow Ethernet Communications. We'll leave the BCM intact controlling two of the DH's (RIO & DH+). I'd love to do some sort of migration but time is short so a simple processor upgrade will have to suffice. We'll be attaching this to a DeltaV system via a Mynah VIM so we need Ethernet I/P. 1) Anyone know of any conflicts between an Ethernet Processor (1785 L40E) and a BCM Module? 2) Anyone know of any conflicts between an Ethernet Sidecar (1785 ENET) and a BCM Module? Those Ethernet Processors are sure expensive!
  2. Small HMI for Outdoor Use?

I had hoped for a little larger screen....like a 6" graphic panel. There is a little too much information the one you mentioned. We are considering trying a small inexpensive touchscreen and putting a sunshade and flip up transparent cover over it. If anyone has a recommendation for a HI-Contrast screen, I'd love to hear it.
  3. Small HMI for Outdoor Use?

I have a small PLC application (Micrologix 1100) where I need a small HMI located outdoors. Virtually all HMI's that mention NEMA 4/4X are indoor only. Does anyone know of a small panel for for this service or have they used an indoor rated HMI outdoors that has worked satisfactorily? As is usual, small equates to the cost also.
