  1. To add to that: 1.Brake voltage will be on the nameplate. SEW brakes are as likely to be AC as 24 vdc (400/230) 2. This is a squirrel cage induction motor? The brakes usually have a manual override lever. M10 bolt in the slot in the cowl works. Do not try this on the machine unless safe to do so.

  2. Thanks again. Do you do much Siemens HMI work? Conversion of program to newer HMIs or repairs? The cost for replacements for these units which are near "end of life" is horrendous.

  3. GX configurator DP used to be the required software. Edit : I just tried to create a project in Navigator / GX works and it says I need to upgrade to use the profibus unit. I don't think this is true, maybe a translation error, but I'll update and try again. Edit 2: Yep, I'm on the latest version.

  4. We have a TP270 with a failing screen (vertical lines). If I can locate a replacement will I be able to update the new one with PROSAVE? Are there any "Gotchas" Would a hardware repair be possible / could the screen items be changed? Anyone have any experience or recommendations? Thanks.

  5. What is the easiest way to set a GOT2000 clock? I need to change for British Summer Time. Automatic wou and be good but operator setting is acceptable.

  6. Google has turned up a nice looking Phoenix Connect web panel. My proof of concept is a small development SoC (Rasp Pi) with a Firefox kiosk.

  7. Hello All, I'm looking for standalone web browser in a HMI style form factor. Ideally with a touchscreen. A web server would be good too. It would be to give access to automation devices with an integrated web server. Panel mounted preferred. Can anyone suggests anything?

  8. I need to connect a FX3GE to a E1000 HMI. I can't find a how to for this connection. What driver do I use in the E1000? What setting in the FX3GE? I am assuming I use the FX3U ethernet driver in the E1000? UDP, MC protocol, 5001 host port, IP address of E1000, 5029 destination, setting at the FX end? Can anyone confirm these settings?

  9. Hello Flippyr. Does the machine currently work? The run light seems to be off/ battery and fault light on? Forget about the existing program. Start with the electrical schematic. Re-create it if you do not have it. Now thing about how you want the machine to work. See if this matches up with the existing hardware. From the earlier photos it looks like the PLC only has one input connected and there are two (single phase?) motor contactors and a few other outputs. So I'd say you need to start at the hardware and work back to the software. Above all - be safe. Where are you based - PM if you need to.

  10. What is the program extention? Is it *.dat? If not can you get them to supply the "Project Transfer" file which will be a *.dat file? Load this on to a USB stick, plug it into your HMI, accept update, job done. Assuming you have access to a USB memory stick. Edit: It looks like your software and program are for the PLC not the HMI. See page 24.... http://web.ist.utl.pt/ist11390/AI/SAIA%20PCD3%20Series.pdf You need to plug it into the PLC USB port not the HMI port.

  11. Peripherals -> right click -> properties. Help I found this: Error code The driver received an error code from the controller. For more information about the error code see the manual for the controller.

  12. I saw that AB page when I was wondering about this. It used to be the norm to show one output contactor connected to "0v rail" after the safety contacts and the other to the "+ve rail" before the safety contacts. Sort of one sink and one source. Not seen that in a while. Pulse testing is an input thing. Each input channel has a different pulse sequence so that shorts or wiring errors are caught. I think both are Cat.3 but they have different fault exclusion requirements. It's difficult to talk in the abstract about safety now as it is about the components used and avoiding common cause failures as much as the way it looks on the wiring diagram. Maybe safety needs a new forum category?

  13. There are some libraries in the download section of the Mitsubishi site. As I recall there are quite a few. Reply if you can't access them and I'll send them.
