  1. Promass Comms

Hi all Have CPU318-2 PLC and trying to get comms to a Promass Flow meter via a ET200M/Link - DP/PA Coupler. Have verifed that PA side setup is good, but think problem is between PLC and ET200m /Link, ie DP side. Changed PLC for Newer model and setup works fine, verified CPU318-2PLC has no problems, Cannot update existing PLC to newer model on site, so need to get it working with CPU 318 that I have, PLC was installed in 2005-06. Anybody ever have any similar issues. Regards,

  5. E1100 Ethernet Comms

Hi All Does anyone know is it possible to connect an E1100 HMI to 4 separate PLC's each having a QJ71E71 card installed?? In E-Designer it only shows 2 TCP/IP connections in the network connections. Does this mean an E1100 can only connect to 2 PLC's Via Ethernet. Regards,

  7. Off node Communications

Hi All When installing Intouch, during the installation setup, you are asked for off-node communication information. What does this off node communication settings cover. Or if someone could direct me to a manual which covers this, it would be greatly appreciated. Regards,
  8. Rebooting Scada

Hi All I am running Intouch 9.5 with SP1 communicating to a Mitsubishi PLC using an Takabishi AJ71QE71 IO Server (Rev. 3.45), I have set this up on existing site with no problems, however on an identical site I am setting up a similar system, but when rebooting from a power failure the IO server on the Scada PC will not initialise, Intouch viewer and the IO server Start but the IO server does not poll any bits. I notice from looking at the services running on the PC that the IO server would not start because the wonderware logger would not start, Tech support said that this could be a problem with the IO server not supporting Intouch V9.5, but why is it running on a different site with no problems. Has anybody had any similar issues????? Regards,

  11. Ethernet Status

Thanks for the reply anonymous, through some trial and error I found a bit that I could use to pick up the status (CIO1517 bit 14), the problem I am having now is that I cannot seem to read this value in the program, I am new to Omron Plc’s and I am just scratching my head with what is going wrong, I keep getting errors when I try to read the bit directly I then tried to use a compare instruction on the word CIO 1517 as the word valve changes when the cable disconnects. When I monitor the CIO register I can see it change but when I try use the word in the program it does not contain a value. Anybody any ideas, I am thinking this is a basic problem with what I am trying to do. Regards
  12. Ethernet Status

Hi all I am new to Omron PLC’s and I have a question, I am using an Omron CS1G-CPU 43 with an ETN-21 Ethernet card installed, I am trying to read back a status that will tell me when the Ethernet Cable is un-plugged, does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this, I have been in the manual and it talks of CIO and A registers having status bits but nothing works for me. Do I use a RECV Fins command to get status from the Ethernet card? Any help would be appreciated, Regards,
