  1. E-Designer V7.5 Build 312

I have installed Remote Access Viewer, but after my initial problem. Nothing else has changed. I am the Administrator on the PC. I'm completely baffled.
  2. E-Designer V7.5 Build 312

Vista, but everything was working perfectly until last week.
  3. Simultaneous Communication QJ71E71

You are a star Cheers Paul Ked
  4. Hi there I'm trying to set up simultaneous communication and from the manual I get this: How do I set the Transmission target IP to Simultan? Cheers Paul Ked
  5. Try the FLT command (floating point). LD M8000 FLT D40 D40 This will allow you to store a decimal in D40
  6. Symbol trouble - E1101

Hi When I double click on the Multiple Symbol I can browse and see the bitmaps I want to use, but as soon as I try to apply any of them I get the error "Symbol not found." Really annoying! Cheers Paul Ked
  7. Encoders and Q

Hi. Has anyone used rotary encoders with Q-series? I have one to sense direction and speed - approx 12rpm max - which will require a high speed counter input on one axis and an absolute one to sense angle (8000 pulse/rev) on another axis. I have done this in the past with FX3u using X0/X1 for high speed input and the absolute encoder on profibus. This time I'm using Q (because of MES unit) but I don't know what modules to use. Any ideas? Cheers Paul Ked
  8. Encoders and Q

@ Intelle I appreciate your concern, but this application only requires a "tilting" action at very low speeds. The machine is at rest then tilts up 27deg over a period of 30secs then returns to rest. It then repeats this operation (but tilts down) so as long as I see a 'correct' signal every second or so I can cope with the odd 'bad data'. Do you think I would still have a problem? @ Duffenator I'll have a look at that module. Thanks both
  9. Encoders and Q

Thanks for reply. I would have gone down the Profibus route but the client doesn't want to do this. I am networking the PLCs/HMI's through E-NET and just had a thought... Is there an encoder with E-Net connectivity? I'll have a look. By the way, what is the module to use for an absolute encoder and would an ordinary input module be fast enough for high speed counters? Cheers Paul Ked
  10. Upgrade E910 to E1101

Hi all I've just had to upgrade an E910 to an E1101 (some idiot put a screwdriver through the E910!) The HMI is controlling an oven (FX3U) and the recipes are stored in the HMI. The directory (Current directory reg.: (D94)) is the name of the product and the recipe (Current recipe reg.: (D90)) is the colour. In the E910 I would change the recipe directory to choose the product and then pick the colour of the product by loading the recipe. This worked a treat. When I changed the terminal I loaded in the recipe data using HMI Tools: FTP client (as was with the E910) and all the data seems to be intact. Now that I've changed most things are working fine apart from the two following: 1. I change the recipe directory and (as it should) D94 registers the product name. When I load the colour recipe D94 is reset to 0 and none of the recipe data is loaded. I created a new "test" recipe using the HMI and saved it. When I loaded this recipe D94 still reset but it did load back the data. 2. The Current display reg.: (D101) always reads 0 regardless of the block being viewd on the HMI. I have an angry client on my back (he has 3 ovens and so he's down 1/3rd on production!) and I'm stuck in a mixture of and Any ideas? Cheers Paul Ked
  11. Upgrade E910 to E1101

TEST1 loads, TEST2 doesn't. I've included the template file too. Cheers Paul Ked Parts.zip
  12. Upgrade E910 to E1101

Thanks guys. Setting SCRR (ShortCurrentRecipeRegister) on the command line solves the problem of the disappearing current recipe reg. Still having trouble with HMI Tools, latest... 1. Create a recipe in the HMI and save it (TEST1.SKV), fine as it can be re-loaded at any time. 2. Receive TEST1 through FTP Client, edit recipe, save it (TEST2.SKV) and send it back to the terminal, fine as it can be re-loaded at any time. 3. Send any of the files created with the E910 to the HMI and none of the values are loaded. When the "Loading..." message pops up on the HMI when a recipe is selected, 1. & 2. above take just over a second as the data is loaded. When trying 3. above it is only a couple of milisecs. I've got at least 180 recipes.... Cheers Paul Ked
  13. Upgrade E910 to E1101

Thanks for prompt reply. I did downlowad the latest drivers yesterday before installing the terminal. When I boot the terminal, the versions are: EBOOT v1.1 build 174 IMAGE v4.2 build 174 FIRMWARE V1.5 B170 Cheers Paul Ked
  14. MELSEC Q Advantages

Hi I'd say Mitsi were less expensive, easier to program, and their support (through my experience) is 100 times better. Cheers Paul Ked
  15. Can't communicate with QJ71E71-100

Many thanks, it did help. On the PC side of Transfer Setup I had set to Station No 1 instead of 2! Cheers Paul Ked
  16. Hi all I have a Q00J, QJ71E71-100 and Q71MES96. I can communicate with the MES unit (192.168.0.85) but not with with the E71 (192.168.0.84) Using the diagnostic tools, the module information is there, no error and with the correct IP, but Ping will not find it. However, pinging it from DOS does find it. Any ideas? Cheers Paul Ked BTW I'm using GX Dev 8.30G
  17. Can't communicate with QJ71E71-100

Hi My PC IP is 192.168.0.71 and I can ping everything from the DOS prompt. THe PLC (192.168.0.84) is communicating with the HMI (192.168.0.72) and the MES (192.168.0.85) is communicating with the server (192.168.0.83). However, I cannot communicate with the PLC over the ethernet from GXDev. Screenshots: Cheers Paul Ked
  18. Can't communicate with QJ71E71-100

Pinging from DOS finds it, using the Ping function in GXDev does not, hence me wondering about the version. I'll be communicating to a network of plc's and hmi's and using the MES unit to log data, hold recipes, manage reports etc. (through a database) Cheers Paul Ked
  19. FRUSTRATING

Just guessing (not at my pc) but is it to do with insert/overwrite set to insert?
  20. Reading data from Fx3U into Q

Many thanks, I'm off surfing Cheers Paul Ked
  21. Reading data from Fx3U into Q

Hi all I need to read from several FX3U's into a Q00J to insert the data into a database. The manual says The READ instruction can only be executed, if the object station is a QnA CPU Is there a way around this? Cheers Paul Ked
  22. Reading data from Fx3U into Q

    Ethernet Cheers Paul Ked
  23. E910 HMI with FTP Client

Many thanks, I'll give it a try. Cheers Paul Ked
  24. E910 HMI with FTP Client

Hi all. I have (well, my customer has!) a problem when using FTP Client from the HMI tools with the E910 terminal. The customer logs into the terminal to edit/add recipes. He makes his changes and then tries to send them back to the terminal. Unfortunately, the terminal has dropped the connection whilst he was performing his edit. The only way to re-connect is to close the application and re-start it, which is making him v . Is there any way of allowing the terminal to stay connected without activity for an infinite period? Maybe there is a better FTP Client for editing recipes out there? Best regards Paul Ked
  25. Any clue for huge data in MX-Sheet ?

Hi there. Not sure exactly what you mean, but the fastest read operational interval in MX Sheet is 1sec. If you need a faster response I would log the operation in the PLC and then update the sheet every, say, 5seconds and then decipher it. Cheers Paul Ked
