Take a look at the Red Lion Data Station http://www.redlion.net/Products/HumanMachineInterface/DataStationPlus.html -
When you do the calculations for an enclosure, what do you use for the heat source values. Some vendors give a BTU/Hr for their devices, but many do not. I have used various estimations over the years, but was wondering what other folks did. On some panels, I use the power inputs, and the conversion efficiencies to determine estimated heat generation, but I never liked that method. What do you use to determine if an enclosure needs a fan or air conditioner for heat removal? -
I used to work at a chemical plant, and the way I understand the rules, the limits are based on workers exposure during an entire 8 hour shift. So if you get a small spike at the beginning of a shift, but only small ripples the rest of the time, then the time weighted average will be within limits. So the average must be over an 8 hour period, you want the low values so the high values are evened out over time. The big question is how often do you sample. If this was my project, I would record the values once a minute and then average every hour, at the end/start of a new shift, average the last eight hourly averages. Or you could do a rolling 8 hour average also. Someone within your organization has to specify exactly what the requirements are, until then you have no way of knowing how to write the logic. -
I can't remember, does the ML1400 have a real time clock? If it does your problem can be easily handled. -
If it is relevant to the topic you can post links and names of companies that may help. Board admin. -
My company specializes in the Process Safety Life Cycle, we have several openings across the United States http://aesolutions.catsone.com/careers/?portal= -
Always considered FLUKE as the standard, never used another brand. -
Do you have the software and need help with the procedure? If you asking someone to furnish the software, we do not allow that on this site. -
I would try swapping the chassis power supplies. -
Well done Ken, got tired of watching NCAA B-Ball? -
Glad to help, glad it worked. -
Do you have an HP or Compaq laptop? It may be a BIOS setting. http://cid-25ab668da...N-switching.png -
I assume they will ship to the UK, I have been using cables from this site: https://www.theautomationstore.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage-ask.tpl&product_id=82&category_id=47&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=2 Never had any issues. -
Most mass meters can do a pulse output and/or a 4-20ma signal. Do you have any influence on the meter output configuration? If I remember correctly a barrel is 42 gallons, so set up the meter for one pulse per gallon and count 84 pulses, then take a sample. -
Nice, thanks for the update. -
In my world B&R is not a factor, never seen one. My customers use mostly Siemens, Allen-Bradley aka Rockwell, and a few TI/Siemens 505 systems. However, we mostly work with the Oil/chemicals industry so machine builders may have used this brand. -
Thanks, the ISA course looks interesting. -
HI folks, I have a client that recently haired a new grad Chemical Engineer to assume the role of "controls" engineer. They plan on sending him to ladder logic trainging, HMI training, and loop tuning training. They asked me for a recommended class on loop tuning. I do not have a clue, never been to one, and loop tuning is not one of my strengths. Has anyone been to a class, that they would recommend? -
I moved this to the Modicon forum, you should get a better response here. -
When other people approach you and ask your advice about S7, then you can consider yourself a Siemens PLC engineer. -
There are analog PLC cards with higher resolution than 12 bits, many vendors now have 16 bit resolution. 500,000pa / 32767 =15.26 or a 15 bit card will give you around 31 still less than 50. Are you using existing hardware, or are you able to purchase new? If you get an transducer with a range of 4-5 bar, it will still have an output of 4-20 mA, 4mA = 4 bar 20mA = 5 bar So you would end up with 100,000 / 4096 = 24.4 -
I also recommend the CLX chassis as a bridge to ethernet. I am not familiar with the Wonder Ware driver, but you have to specify the CIP path for the various PLC's this can be a little difficult the first time. With RSLynx it is seamless , works great -
I've never used the web server in a ML, but this manual may be of some use: http://forums.mrplc.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=495 It's for a ML1100, but I assume they are similar. -
If quality and ease of use were factors I recommend OSI soft's PI historian but they are not cheap....you get what you pay for.
