  1. analog channel noise

all inputs are connected as differential, and are config as 0-10v, there is one channel that is not connected and is not Jumpered , I wonder if that would have any effect.
  2. I hope someone can help me out here....I have a system 5/03 of which is connected an analog card 1746-NI8 on one of the channels I am measuring resistance the range is 1- 10 ohms, however when I try to scale the input through the SCP instr... the counts are not stable at all ,,, I then measure the input voltage coming in from the resistance meter and its rock solid.... I thought I was picking up noise on the analog input but as I stated the voltage is solid..... I don't know where the noise would be coming from..... any ideas would be greatly appreciated.... note: the other channels are noisy as well...
  3. Does anyone know how I can configure the FIO4V ( SLC503) in which I would be able to access the Input type, Data Format, Filter Freq....I tried going through via the RSlogix but can't find it.....Hope someone can lend a helping hand.......Thanks
  4. Ken R. ...... Yes I can still see the proportional voltage coming into the damaged analog channel and the two damaged channels remain even if I reset the PLC. Jstolaruk : I left the unused inputs floating... I have 2 good channels left ...I have moved to one of the remaining good channels and grounded the rest.... the Machine has been running now for about 24hrs....I think that was my problem.. Thanks Guys ...I really appreciate all your help.....Product was begining to pile up....you guy got my manager off my back ......many thanks.....
  5. I'm having a problem with a NI4 analog card. I am reading a 0-10v analog voltage coming off of a Process Meter (Newport INFCPo) and after 12hrs or so the NI4 0 channel no longer functions I'm reading 0 off that channel I change to a different channel and it works for a while then the same thing happens.....the analog voltage coming in to the card comes from a process Meter (Newport INFCPO) which has a analog output of 0-10 volts and that's still remains operational , I' don't know if its the meter of if I have a defective NI4 card.... If someone has any experience with this type of problem I would appreciate your help.......thanks
  6. I wonder if someone can help me out, I have a 503 slc with a FIO4v input/output card .I need to read a weight out of a load cell 0-25lbs, my question is ..the input card has an input of 0-10v, the conditoner has an output of 0-5v can I still interface these two devices or do I have to match the input card 0-10v input with the conditioner output of 0-10v thanks....
