  1. I have a water tank that I am needing to control a VFD output speed.

I have the Scale block setup with a Max input of 25.0 feet. with "0" as monimum.

I have the output set at a max of 4095 which translates to 60 Hz. I have a minimum of 30 Hz

Now, for the issue, if set the tank pump to run "on" at 10' and off at 7', So it should be 60 Hz at 10 and slowing to 30 Hz at 7" (Yes sort of a mX+B scenario)

I then do a MOV to send the 10' max to the Max input register like D7880.

I can't get the Data register to be a solid Max at the needed 10.0. It flickers back and forth between 10.0 and 25.0 and AO is very erratic.

I've tried to us the Float, and Word as the data types.

I can make it all go with a lot of compares and moves (think FGEN) but would really like the Scale function to handle this, and just not familiar enough to how-to it.

  2. I remember using the Kunlum as I used to live in China,

For some reason it seems the Kunlun was using some sort of a knock-off Mitsubishi software, maybe? I know it used the same DB-9 to Mini DIN-8 connector.

This is me trying to remember 15 years ago, but maybe worth a try?

Followup:  ENGLISH VERSION HMI MCGS PROGRAMMING SOFTWARE - YouTube

Appears the MCGS now owns Kunlun?

  3. I've used the FC4A Analog module, on a FC6A, which they thankfully added a checkbox to help with the remapping of points.

That noted, this is the basis which I am asking the question about the relay card. If they did the analog card, have they also made the other IO modules usable?

I'll try it when I get back to the lab that doubles as my garage.

  4. I'm integrating a small project using an IDEC FC6A-C24. I have a couple fo the IDEC FC4A-R081 relay modules laying around and wondering if the FC4A named module will work on the FC6A?

I have one and have tried it but getting a bus error. Not sure if the relay card is good either, as it was rolling around in my travel box.

  5. Yes, I know this is very old topic. :-2

But I'd like to see some of the actual C+ looking programming, as this is a subject that I think we've limited the power of the Crimson based displays and Data Acquisition modules. (Love the DA30 BTW)

I've done some of it but the daily use of this option I think is limited to what we've learned. Red Lion tech hasn't really worked on the Help manual in tis area in quite sometime.

Well, that puts it on my to buy list.
I've been using wireshark but it doesn't tell me which ones are PLCs.

If your needing to find one PLC in particular, filter by the MAC address.

If your like me I take a picture then really expand it.  :kewl:

The Red Lion in a great choice I'll agree. Also has Ignition Spark license already.

Do you need a complete PLC/PAC solution? If not, we use the Wago IO (It has a CLX AOI too) for Modbus add-on. Coupled with a XetaWave or Banner radio to get the very remote station into our ethernet'd plc.

Red Lion's DSP (Data Station Plus) and the entire Crimson line of MHI can do Protocol conversions and I'm told now has a OPC-UA server in it.
Maple Systems HMIs can host tags to it's internal Modbus TCP server or you can license it's OPC or MQTT service on them.
Allen Bradley's Micrologix 1400 Ser. B can read Modbus TCP and then your Controllogix can read from it.
VTscada can output a tag from one device into another without scripting.
Once, long ago I scripted one tag to output to another in FactoryTalk View SE based on rate of change.
Click PLCs can be read via Ether/IP assemblies from Allen-Bradley PLCs and presumably most other PLCs that support Ether/IP Assembly I/O.

  8. Happen to have the other boilers programs to compare?   Are they all using CLX? Dare I ask, but what are they, these boilers, doing? I assume oil stabilization?

Boilers and their testing is a long cantankerous process. Did a couple in a previous life, so I get your "What did you do?" fears. Never seem to be just right, get them pretty happy in the operation and be gone...

Yeah the techs would be happy with your additional rung comments.
