  1. Hello Friends, After 29 years, I finally got caught up in a layoff wave with 36 other people, I've got some free time on my hands, along with 17 years of Allen Bradley Drives / PLC / Interface experience. Need something tweaked or a complete program written? Drop me a note... Thanks Terry
  2. CQM1H-CPU51 Comms error-help needed

Comms, I down loaded any files I could find in the download area relating to this PLC, there was an Omron Systools, I am tring to see if there are any errors or settings that might be wrong, or just plain redownload my program incase there is an error. But I can't get any comms to work. TRW
  3. CQM1H-CPU51 Comms error-help needed

Thanks Guys... I'm still not having much luck... I'm going to contact alocal rep about some programming software, I probably need it anyway... Thanks again
  4. CQM1H-CPU51 Comms error-help needed

Hey guys... I have a machine from Italy with a CQM1H-CPU51 and a NT2S-SF122B-EV2 display. the dispaly is saying "COMM ERROR WITH PLC CHECK PLC POWER" This unit is power from the PLC and there are no error lights on, I repalced the cable between the two first, then I purchased a new NT2S display and replaced it, same problem. I do not have the Omron PLC programming software (all we use here is AB) I downloaded some system utilities that was supposed to let me uplaod /download and view errors, but I can't establish comms to the serial port, I used the programming cable I purchased with the NT2S display. Any advice is appreciated.. TRW
  5. RSVIEW 32 alternative?

I'm stumbling though... Can I get some critique...see attached (SCC.apa) backup file TRW Oh well never mind... I'm getting errors saying "Upload failed. You are not permitted to upload a file with that file extension." Lets try a zip....
  6. RSVIEW 32 alternative?

Maybe you guys can help me with another issue... I've tried downloading multiple example HMI codes from this site, but I can't get any of them to open. I've got RSVIEW ME 4.00 The only option I have is to open a NEW app.. but it only looks for file extensions .pba .pvc .pva .med none of which exist in the sample codes? TRW
  7. RSVIEW 32 alternative?

I don't take offence.. I'm sure of it... I'm looking for things like Animated Toggle (without having to do hides of multiple items) simple start buttons with pilots Varing object states via shaded color animations ( am currently making multple colored pumps) I'm used to building screens with motors, pumps, tanks, pipes that change color or blink during state changes TRW
  8. RSVIEW 32 alternative?

Yep... That's what I've got.....RSVIEW ME I've used several other packages with CMORE(Automation Direct) and Siemens (not my fav) I've been spoiled with using Industrial Gadgets with VB and getting to create some pretty slick interfaces... I had my AB rep come out to try to help me recreate some of my screens but I'm almost limited to doing screen captures of my stuff and hiding buttons in RSVIEW because it just does not have the functionality I want. TRW
  9. Hey Guys... We've been using VB to program my HIM interfaces (AB Industrial PCs) for years, we're tired of fighting the drives going out on these things so were are converting over to AB Panelview Plus, I am not pleased at all with their HIM programming software RSVIEW 32 (yea I know they are changing the name) it looks like it was developed for Windows 3.1, and is not intuitive at all. Can anyone recommend an “affordable” canned software package for programming the PanelView Plus Screens? TRW
  10. Hey Guys... Looking for someone around Atlanta, Ga to backup files from an Omron CQM1H-CPU51 and NT25 Display We got 2 machines from Italy and we don't do Omron, need them backed up for safe keeping. TRW
  11. Sabotage

I didn't see what type of processor you had, but We ran into a similar situation but it was not sabotage. We have SLC 5/05 processors at remote sites, and ran into a situation where if you had two instances of RSLOGIX running on your PC you could accidently write to the wrong processor when saving to the eeprom. I tried to find our notes on the issue but couldn't. The problem was really obvious if the line being downloaded to had a different rack config. because it would fault out, but if it had the same config if would never warn you other than a note about changing nodes. TRW
  12. Accessing SLC5/03 via Ethernet?

We are using that Ethernet port to communcate to the network.... My hopes were to be able to daisychain my 5/03's via DH485 and attach some type of bridge device that I could see them in RSlinx across my LAN. TRW
  13. Accessing SLC5/03 via Ethernet?

TW.... The Versaview is for all intents nothing but a PC with a Touchscreen, We us a program written in VB for all of our interface screens. It communicates to the PLC via serial communications for Bit and Interger read/writes. All I need is that bridge between the two... I have extra Comm ports on the Versaview that I could use to get to the DH485 port on the 5/03 with something like a PIC module in between, I'm just not that versed in DataHighway type communications. The AB "NO"ledge base has a posted question refering to the 1761-NET-ENI.... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Answer ID 37235 Can I connect a 1761-NET-ENI to a SLC processor and use passthru to communicate from ethernet to DH-485, DH+, or another ethernet network? Question Can I connect a 1761-NET-ENI to a SLC processor and use passthru to communicate from ethernet to DH-485, DH+, or another ethernet network? Answer No, the 1761-NET-ENI does not support passthru capability. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TRW
  14. Hey guys... I know I should be asking my AB rep about this but, Is there a way to access my SLC 5/03 from my office across Ethernet? I've got about 70 or so PLCs with SLC 5/03 processors, none of them are linked together, but each PLC has a networked AB VersaView 1500 Industrial PC that is attached via serial comm. All my VersaViews are on my local network. I know about the SLC processors with Ethernet ports, We use 5/05’s in our out of state satellite plants, I'm just looking for some creative alternatives to make local comms easier... Thanks in advance TRW
  15. 1747-PIC Repair?

Thanks Guys... I think I'm going to opt for the $49 replacements and quit carring that brick around. Terry Thanks Panic... I have the UIC but I'm still pissed at AB that they can't fix the error you get when burning to eeprom. I like my old faithful comm port communications. All the bad PICs I have give me a Communications error 00000005 in RSLINX. It could be loose wiring, you can get communication every once in a while. It's really odd, I've gone through 3 this month, it's like my car the day after the warranty ran out. TRW
