thanks for the advice, is there any chance of a ladder example. i dont have any expirience of using data registers, i need to activate an M coil at times set via the HMI. I have the programming manual but as mentioned in the first post i'm having trouble getting this to work. Thanks agian for the help.

Can anyone give me any advice on using the time clock function of the FX2n. At present i have a 2 channel digital time clock which activates an input on the PLC to start a sequence in the program. What i would like to do is take out the digital time clock and utilise the PLC and an E200 hmi to input times to start sequences, I have GX developer & E-designer and have basic programming knowledge but i have looked through the programming manual and cant get to grips with the time clock function. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have three plant rooms on a site, each has an FX2n with an E-200 HMI controlling large refrigeration equipment. I would like to have all three plant rooms networked to my workshop (50m to plant room 1, 100m to plant room 2 & 150m to plant room 3) so i could monitor via a HMI or PC, temperatures, if machines are on/off, and all the options on the plant room HMI's. Also i would like to be able to remote monitor temperatures & settings etc from home by dialing in using a laptop, and if possible would like to recieve a text message when an alarm activates, and send a text to site requesting a text back to give me coldstore temperatures. I'm a refrigeration/electrical engineer by trade, i have dabbled with the FX2n to change timers and basic stuff, I'm currently doing a basic programming course to learn a bit more. I wont be doing the job myself, i would like to know what the best options are for when i get someone in to price the job as understand there are many differnt ways to network these PLC's PC or HMI in the workshop? What type of network? Any advice would be greatly appriciated.

did you check CD that came with starter kit?

I have just purchased an Alpha 2 starter kit for a project at work, it comes with everything except a programming manual, i have spent all day serching on the net but have had no luck as yet. I have had a play with the software and got it carrying out simple tasks but i would like to know more about the more advanced features of the alpha 2 and how to use them Does any one know where a can get a manual or any useful links that may be of help. I have some expirience working with FX2n's and i asumed i could program the alpha 2 with GX developer, but as i know now this is not the case. Any help or advice would be greatly apriciated. Karl.
