What drives 392.04 Flag?

2 posts in this topic

I'm adding a CTS I24 system's RS232 output to a CJ1M CPU12 ETN.  I have both set up to 8-1-N 9600 and the PLC set to RS232C.  I can see the PLC 'port' LED flicker when the data stream is sent at the end of the machines cycle.  But I get the Communication Error Flag 392.04 and never the received flag 392.06.  I can't find in the documentation what throws this error.  I've tried many settings and can't seem to figure this out.  I'm afraid its because I can't go 'no protocol' on the built-in and it doesn't know what to do with the data stream.  Thanks, Darren

You can use the No Protocol RS232 mode on the built in port without any issues.

Do you have the proper cable between the two?  The Omron serial port does NOT have a standard pinout.  The A392.04 bit is driven by the port itself.  Look at A528.00 - A528.07 to see what type of error:
