How could use PLC control through RS232?

Hello there, I would like to control one axis or seven axes by a PLC. The key is that I have a Serial port stepper controller with RS232, how could I figure it out? Please help, thanks!

You would have to provide at least the model of PLC you are using and the model of stepper motor controller you are using to receive any type of useful reply. Other than that the advice is - get the manuals and start reading.

There should be a protocol manual that tells you what ASCII string to send to the stepper drive from the serial port on your PLC. Also, check with tech support for the stepper manufacturer. They may have code snippets from common PLC manufacturers to get you started.

That type of control will only work if you are not expecting the stepper drives to be synchronized. The exact requirements will depend on the PLC you use and the stepper drive RS232 protocol.
