hot swap-ability ?
jester_ns replied to jester_ns's topic in Modicon / Telemecanique / Schneider Electric
Thanks. That's what I was asking. -
Not familiar with modicon, so question is, I have a problem channel on the 140ACI04000 analog input module,I have proved that the channel is the problem, I want to change it out on the fly. Can you hot swap these ? and if so, is there some configuration that needs to be done first to the module ? Are there version differences to look for as well ? We are running Concept Ver. 2.6XL SR3 Any info would be helpful, thanks.

This topic was so interesting, I had to chime in. I first learned fuzzy logic when working on video camcorders. This was one of the first consumer applications. The way it was described to me, may help you to grasp what it does for certain applications. Assume you are panning a scene with your camera, as you know you would have several items at differing distances. Using fuzzy logic, as you pan, the camera decides (based upon rules that are set ) where the focus should be set. If you are looking at a person, but they only take up 30 percent of the screen and a wall at 20 feet behind takes up the remainder, the camera may want to focus on the wall (higher percentage) but, if the perason is more centered in the picture, then the camera will want to focus more attention there. Eventually as I panned, then the wall would get more attention and focus would change. You've no doubt seen auto-focus cameras, but the ones with fuzzy logic generally do a better job of keeping the focus on the intended target. Hope this helps some.

0-200 microamp to 0-10 VDC converter

Phoenix Contact offers several conversion modules (with isolation) that will cover your needs I'm sure. -
Thanks for the help, worked fine. Have played with the Regedit lots of times, not always good, but good lessons learned.

As you know the program keeps track of the last several files that have been opened. When you click on 'file' you will see these in decending order at the bottom. What I would like is to be able to clear this field. My problem is that I have to set my PC up for several people to use and problems may arise if someone selects the wrong file. Can it be done ?

Actually, when set to ladder view it doesn't work, but when I set it to layout view it will work as you describe.

OK, tried as you said, or thought I did. Placed cursor on a rung, hit print, up pops a dialog box says 'zooming factor setting', I select normal then up pops printer dialog and it prints some rungs ( appears as though some selection has been made at some time ). Not sure what I'm missing here, is it the 'cursor focus' ? Is that not just another way of saying 'put your cursor here' ?

Thanks, will give it a try. Not new to PLC's just most experience with A-B. Not new to MrPLC either, been hanging around a long time reading, just never posted before.

Totally newbie to OMRON. We bought the cx-One package recently, CX-programmer Ver6.11 with CX-server Ver2.4 No major issue with normal functions, following ladder etc. but not sure how to print a report. Don't even know if it's referred to as a report. With the Allen-Bradley I can select the full ladder, parts of, or even individual rungs to print if I want. This is what I'd like to do with the OMRON. Always nice to print out selected rungs so I can use them in documents to help others follow the logic. Is it possible ? Did I make any sense asking this ?
