I recall all the major HD manufacturers bundling a bootstrap loader program with their drives back when this was an issue. I'm sure I've still got a copy if anyone needs it. What it did, I think, is translate the head/cylinder/sector numbers from the actual values on the drive platter to numbers that the older BIOSes could understand. I think the maximum heads x cylinders x sectors product came to approx 528 MB before they started updating the BIOS code in the mid 90s. Of course all that did was uncover the FAT16 2GB roadblock.. :) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
