Posted 22 Dec 2005 (edited) The table is a refernce to the state of the rung and the one shot storage bit from scan to scan. If the rung is false on scan #1, and also false on scan#2, then the rung transition on the second scan is a false to false. It was false before and it is still false. If on scan #3 the rung is true, then it is a false to true transition. The rung was false before, now it is ture. If on scan #4 the run is true again, then it is a true to true transition. The rung was true before and it is still true. If on scan #5 the rung is false again, it is a true to false transition. The rung is solved every scan. The only way to know the rungs previous state is by the status of the one shot storage bit. When a rung is solved as true up to the location of the one shot, the one shot instruction will check the status of the storage bit. If the storage bit is clear then the instruciton will set the storage bit and pass true. If the storage bit is set, then the instruction will pass false. This way the instruction can pass true for only one scan. If the rung solves as false up to the one shot then the one shot will clear the storage bit and pass false.
