Step7 V5.0 & WinXP Pro

Hello, Why I can't install Step7 v5.0 on XP Pro ? When I put the CD & autorun, then message box appear "Version of Operating System not Supported !" But when I tried to installed older version of S7, v4.02.1, it was okay. Please help

Hi, Step7 v5.0 doesn't support XP Pro (and at the time of releasing of Step, XP was already on the market) so it refuses to install on such an OS. v4.02 is very "ancient". So possibly it has no idea that such a beast like XP exist and it may recognize it as a "newer" NT. However Siemens doesn't support this combination of SW. You have 2 options: use newer Step7 or older OS.
