Profinet PN/PN coupler equivalent for Ethernet/IP

2 posts in this topic

Hi,

with Siemens PLCs I have used PN/PN couplers to have two PLCs communicate with each other. One PLC writes to memory in the PN/PN coupler and the other reads that memory. This completely segregates the IP networjs.

Is there an equivalent for Ethernet/IP?

Thanks,

Bart

ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLCs support Produced/Consumed tags in that PLCs at both ends can define only what tags each PLC needs.  Define blocks of tags on both ends, configure the blocks for produced/consumed.

The alternative, that I know of, would be a managed switch with dedicated ports for the two PLCs.
