Jog an AB 284G Armor Start controlled motor

2 posts in this topic

I have several A/B 284 G-Armor Start Drives that are on a Device net Network. We use the VFD drives to turn the rollers on some Power Roller Beds. If the DeviceNet network is down is there any way I can manually jog the motor controlled by the 284 G? Does Allen Bradley make a handheld device that could be hooked to the drive and allow jogging of motor. Does anyone know of a way to jog? I have the 3 phase 480-volt power feeding the drive but I can't send the necessary inputs to the drive to run the motor because, my understanding, AB 5000 logic sends signals via Device net.

We had a Skid on a Power Roller Bed loaded up with some construction materials. The contractor wanted me to jog Skid forward to move material closer to work site. Device Net network was down so I couldn't jog motor. Contractor made a device and attached it to Drill motor and turned motor to drive the Rollers on Roller Table and move Skid. There has to be a better way.
