socket service ? cj2m cpu32

1 post in this topic

Hi there, I wish to dump a file to a socket on a remote device (zebra printer), I currently have a cj2m cpu32 plc that has an embedded eithernet but Im guessing I can not open up a socket to a remote device as it is designed for EIP? does that mean I have to put a cj1w-etn21 module on the rack to allow that feature? As serial has a maximum distance of 15mt (cable dependant) I was hoping to use eithernet with the printer to mount it remotly. Alternativly I could swap the rs232 serial option in the front of the cpu to a 485 and use a 232 to 485 converter at the printer, if i use this option do I have do do any thing special or will the printer just operate over the new hardware layer with out issue?
