SLC 500 EtherNet/IP Adapter

Has anyone tried to use the 1747-AENTR with a SCL 5/05? I know the message differences is noted (!), just wanting to see if anyone has one that they have given it a shot??

This thread has been sitting without comment for a few days so I'll chime in: this is definitely not what the module is meant to do. I seldom say "impossible", especially in this case because I don't have any hands-on experience with the 1747-AENT and I don't know if the module designers left that window open, to have explicit messages to the Configuration and Assembly Objects actually control the 1746 chassis. RA doesn't advertise, promote, document, or suggest that the 1747-AENT can be used as "remote I/O" by an SLC-5/05 controller. At best, it would be "not supported", but more likely it's "only Class 1 cyclic I/O connections are implemented".

Thanks Ken. I supposed this was the case. I don't know any controls people now that don't have anything better do either. This is good for all of us! Best, John
