Please Quick help - highspeed counter CP1E-NA20DR

2 posts in this topic

Hi. I have a small problem, that i would like to get solved very quickly, if it is possible. I have a CP1E NA20DR CPU. It has 6 highspeed input. And i would like to use I2.0 as a highspeed counter. But i can't make it count. I have read the user manual for the CPU. And what I have come to, is that if I want to use I0.2 as high speed counter, I should activate the high speed counter 2 in the settings of the CPU. And as I read it, count it as down to A316 and A317. Is this correct??

And as I understand it, it counts just as soon get a pulse on I0.2. Is this correct?? And no starting and stopping of the high-apeed counter is nessesarry??
I can not get it to count the A316. If I, in my program inserts a MOVL instruction, where I move the A316 intto for example. D700, there are no values ??in the D700, and I can not see that it counts in A316.
As I understand it, I can also just use a MOV if I did not count on the approx. 65000 pulses - is this correct??

And if I understand correctly, I reset high speed counter 2 by setting high A531.0

My setup in the CPU for high-speed counter 2 are:
Linear mode
Sofware reset
Increment pulse input

What I have is just a 24 volt + digital signal that goes to I2.0.
I hope you can say what I'm doing wrong?

Sincerely,
Morten Fuglsang

I have tested on a CP1E-NA20, and my PLC does count just fine. 1. Make certain that you have downloaded the Settings to the PLC. 2. Cycle power to the PLC to make the High Speed Counter changes take affect.
