Does Rockwell offer Profibus classes?

3 posts in this topic

My supervisor asked me to send him info on the Profibus class from rockwell. I said "Isn't that a siemens thing?" and he said "maybe, but Rockwell has classes for it". I can't find it on their website. Has anyone ever heard of or taken a profibus class from Rockwell?

Haven't heard of that one. They do (or did) have classes on Foundation Fieldbus, which is about as bizarre as it gets. In FF, effectively everything has "DeviceLogix" type blocks and you download to the "bus", for lack of a better way to describe it. It's slow but a truly distributed IO system.

You can find vendor-neutral PROFIBUS classes (and webinars) from PI North America, the trade organization supporting PROFIBUS and PROFINET in the US and Canada: www.us.profibus.com under the training menu item.
