PCMK Upgrade from A to B

5 posts in this topic

Hi, I've been happily using a series A PCMK card for a number of years and have now had to upgrade to a series B, Unfortunarely, there seems to be an issue between it and my laptop, that I can't seem to resolve. When I insert the card, windows wants to install the software, which is OK, but it comes up with; Cannot install this Hardware An error Occured during Installation of the device The system cannot find the file specified Starting Linx now will allow the PCMK card to work, but if I shut Linx down and restart the driver seems to have gone. After looking through MrPLC (Deleting the two harmony files) I have managed to be able to load the driver and it will stay in the configuration until I reboot i.e. When restarting Linx the PCMK driver is stil lthere. But rebooting the Laptop will make the driver disappear. I'm running XP pro SP2 RSLinx 2.55 Any ideas?

If you haven't already got to http://www.rockwella...upport/pccards/ and download the latest driver for your PCMK card.

You might have to remove the Harmony files, reboot, then insert the new PCMK Series B card and go from there. Such as to remove the card, remove the Harmony files, reboot, re-install the PCMK drivers, reboot, yadda-yadda-yadda. Make sure in RSLinx you are deleting the card first, and shutting RSLinx down as a service before re-installing the PCMK drivers. http://www.rockwellautomation.com/support/pccards/

OK all going now thanks to Rockwell Tech Support. I found I may have been trying to install the wrong driver But I also found out that it pays to create a folder on your c: drive and download the new drivers directly to there. So instead of C:\Software\Rockwell\pcmk it is C:\pcmk
