usb to serial port

My laptop doesnt have a serial port. Is it possible to use a usb to serial port cable and communicate with the slc 500s and micrologix

For old SLC500 (DH485) you need 1747-UIC ($260 list) For micrologix DF1 you may use a regular USB-to-serial converters or AB 9300-USBS adapter. Also look at SHOP area of this site specially designed USB-AB PLC cable
