Step7 problem

Recently I have had a problem between Step7 and WinCC. In the past I did not receive any messages regarding software problems, but now, when I am exiting a Step7 project, I get a message indicating that some element of the program could not be edited because WinCC is not fully installed or is installed in a later version. I am using Step7 V5.4 +SP4 rev. level K5.4.4.0. My WinCC is 2008 SP1 Build K01.03.01.00_01.67.02. My vendor advises that these are the latest versions, but we have not changed anything in either the ladder programs or the HMI's. Regarding that , the HMI's associated with the projects are no longer showing up with the projects. If I try to re-integrate them I get a similar message indicating that some elements of the HMI were created using a software package that is not installed, or exists in an older version. I am at a loss here. Should I re-install ALL my Simatic software?
