Hello, I am trying to set up communication to a Pro Soft MVI69-MCM. I have set up the cfg to enable the port. I am sending port 1 serial data and the P1 light is green and flashing. I am sending port 1 the following data: 00:44:27, 0000009.69, 0000347.74, 0000347.74, 0000009.73, 0000350.28, 0000350.28 , 0000000.02, 0000004.23, 0000004.23, 0000000.00, 0000001.42, 0000001.42, 000000 0.02, 0000002.83, 0000002.83,-0000000.03, 0000002.92, 0000002.92, 0000000.00, 00 00000.00, 0000000.00, 0000000.00, 0000000.00, 0000000.00, 0000000.00, 0000000.00 , 0000000.00, 0000000.00, 0000000.00, 0000000.00, 0000000.00, 0000000.00, 000000 0.00, 0000000.00, 0000000.00, 0000000.00, 0000000.00, 0000000.00, 0000000.00, 00 00001.20 A script changes the data and then sends the data every second. I am not reading the data in the MCM1.readdata or the by using the data analyzer in the PCB. This is the first time I have used this card and if any one can help I would appreciate it. thank you, Todd

The MVI69-MCM is a Modbus Communication Module built by Prosoft, Inc that provides two serial ports that can be configured as Modbus Master or Modbus Slave devices. If you're going to send it data, your computer/device/application needs to be a Modbus Master and the MVI69-MCM needs to be set up as a Modbus Slave. Your description makes it sound like you are just sending ASCII data to the serial port of the MVI69-MCM. Since you say you enabled the card using the Configuration data block, you probably saw that there's a sample program that Prosoft provides to give you the basic ladder logic to make the module work. Is the data you are sending actually in Modbus RTU master format ?

That looks like Modbus/ASCII. Are you using it in RTU or ASCII mode? Look at www.modbus.org. The documentation for the protocol is unusually clear (and free) right in the specifications.

Thank you for the replies. I am trying to send it to a port set to Master. I will change it to slave and see if the data comes through. I did set the port to RTU and ASCII but it was still as a master. I am not familiar with serial data. I will do some reading on modbus.org. Thank you

I was sending the module ASCII string data which does not work with this module. We have GSC modules which will work with ASCII string data on order but they have not come in yet. thank you again for your help.
