DF1

I have a pc which is setup for AB DF1 protocol to communicate to my PLC (SLC/03) remotely. I want to add a control logix box to that system. The software has the option for SLC-500 and PLC-2. I am using SLC-500 for the SLC/03. My question is this will I be able to use the control logix and used DF1 to remotely get information, register values. I was thinking there may something in the control logix that may prevent it from doing this. Like the format of the registers etc. So if I choose the SLC-500 in the remote monitor software will it be able to interperet the registers coming in from the Control Logix box or do I need to used PLC-2. Can anyone explain the difference if there is any with these two and how it stores/interperets the DF1 protocol. Thanks a million.
