Entry HSC micrologix 1500

Hello, I have a PLC micrologix 1500, which I have connected a quadrature encoder ....... My query is how can monitor whether or not the PLC receives signals from the encoder? Can I do this on the ladder? Thanks for your help. David.

Make sure you have the instruction set manual 1762-rm001 available online at www.ab.com. Chapter 5 contains everything you want to know about the high speed counter. Read it thoroughly. The current count of a high speed counter is in HSC0.ACC (or also HSC1.ACC in the 1500 - it can have 2 counters). The setup of the high speed counters is in the function file section on the left side of the programming screen. Edited 25 Nov 2007 by b_carlton
