RF ID tag information with an ML1200?

I have been asked to see if there is some type of RF ID system out there that I could use with a ML1200. The application is on out card board die cutter system. The engineer would like to place an RF ID tag on the dies and have it read into a ML1200 to track the die production and check machine settings to help prevent a crash. We are talking about 30 to 40 different ID tags. Has anyone used an RF system for anything like this? Thanks Marv.
