  1. 1747-UIC USB cable

  2. Does anyone know how to go about getting permission to switch to a different AB distributor? Rant On The other day I called for quotes on some parts that included a ML1100 and I was told everything is in stock at the factory, I mentioned I believe all is correct but the ML1100 isn’t because I had been waiting on one for another project for the last 3 weeks. Sure enough, “oh the ML1100 is 21 days out” I then mentioned I need one before that and asked if they had checked around. “Yeah that is it”, well I then called a distributor up in WI that I had bought a HSC counter card from before and this guy search the country for me and told me who all had the ML1100 in stock and he knew he could sell me one because I was out of his region. Rant Off I have mentioned this problem to our distributor a number of times and it has improved a little but it is still frustrating knowing your locked into them when I know and have had better service else where.
  3. I like most of the personnel I deal with at the local distributor and I hope I can get the issues resolved without going higher up the chain of command.
  4. I have not call the Rockwell office yet, I am trying to be optimist in that I will not need to do that.
  5. I am happy to see I am not the only one that can have problems with there distributors. In the past, I have displayed a new AD HMI for an attention getter but my salesperson is nice person but very forgetful, he could hide his own Easter Eggs if he wanted. I have called other distributors, they ask where the parts will be installed, and when I cannot lie very well, I am told to call my local distributor. Thanks Again, Bob
  6. Thanks for all the replies. I would not rant like this if I thought it was just me. I had lunch with the head of Engineering from another company in town and he expressed the same issues. Here are some examples from the past that have irritated me: The distributor has two stores within 60 miles of each other Store A and Store B. If I called store A for a part and they did not have it they did not call store B to see if they had it unless you asked them to. This is fixed but I cannot believe that I had to b****h about it. Last fall it took 3-1/2 weeks to get a 120 VAC stack light unassembled. It took 2 weeks to hear back about a servo application.
  7. Spell Check

I switched to Firefox because I have read and heard it is less vulnerable to security issues. Also, this was talk about over at Phil’s a while ago.
  8. Spell Check

Here it is as a file. I haven't taken the time to learn how to insert images. Edit...Ok never mind, I am on Firefox. Screen_Shot.bmp
  9. Spell Check

I am missing the ABC checkmark but have everything else.
  10. Spell Check

TWControls, I was looking for the same thing and I still can't locate it even in the Rich Text Editor.
  11. I have never need to use a pull-up resistor before but now I am told I need one. The manufacture recommends a 10kW pull-up resistor. I am wiring into a ML1100. I used the equation below to calculate the resistor size and came up with .0576 Ohms. P=V^2/R V=24VDC P=10 kW R=.0576 Ohms Is this correct? Thanks, Bob
  12. Pull-up resistor

Please don’t get me wrong this wasn’t a big deal.
  13. Pull-up resistor

The manual is incorrect so all is good now.
  14. Pull-up resistor

They have 10 kW listed and the sensor can be powered by 5-24 VDC so that is why I was calculating an R value.
  15. I woke up to early this morning but I now have RSView32 sending messages to my cell phone from my test bench. I found that Outlook asks for permission before sending the message but I think there is a way to work around this in Outlook. I search the Free SMS Software but there are a lot of them so I will ask our IT for recommendations or if anyone knows which one the Rockwell group recommends that would great also. Thanks for all the help, Bob
  16. Bob, I was thinking email but the text message works great.I just tested it and request outlook for my server. I will also search to see if there is something free instead of paying for a seat of outlook. I am using a nextel i710 Bob

Ken, I can see and use the programs that are running by making the change mentioned above, but it has brought up some other small issues that IT and I need to work on. I believe a setting might need an adjustment to make it more users friendly. Bob
  18. Vpn

I did not want to hijack the other thread about VPN so I started a new thread over here. When I connect to my server at work through VPN I can’t see the programs currently running on the server, for example I have RSView32, RSLogix500 and my DVT Vision running that are minimized to the tool bar but when I dial in, I get a “clean” tool bar as if no programs are running. Our IT dept. and I set this VPN up and I am no expert [along with some other people] on this topic but is there a setting that can be changed that will display the current active desktop? Thanks, Bob O.
  19. Vpn

We had to change this under the short cut properties %SystemRoot%\System32\mstsc.exe To this C:\WINDOWS\system32\mstsc.exe /console Thanks for the help
  20. Vpn

Update… Our IT dept. runs into the same issue when they connect from home to different servers and I was told, “We need to look into that”. I have to think it is something simple but just need to find that simple fix.
  21. You can get RSLogix500 I know of to boot of an empty activation disk but for the life of me can find it in the help file or in the knowledge base. There was something in the help files about this if I could just remember where to look.
  22. Vpn

I can connect from home without any problems and run software but it doesn’t show the currently running software down in the tool bar and now that I think about it some more it does the same thing while I am at work connecting from my desktop to the server.
  23. Cordless Screwdriver Bits

    Maybe something here...... http://www.wihatools.com/indexes/Indx_power_bits.htm
  24. Factory Talk Activation

When I went to the lunch and learn about this a while back, I really believe the people giving the presentation said you did not need to use their dongle but another device could be used instead. May be Ken R can chime in on this one.
