[Speed/ Velocity Calculation]

Most vehicles use a Mag pickup that pulses each time a gear tooth pases by its sensor and use a similar calculation ad described by ThePEee above to determine speed.  it looks instantaneous due to the speed of the calculation but in electronic terms is actualy delayed by a good bit severaly milliseconds in a typical road car you will have to decide what is a good balance between delay and accuacy for your application

which USB port are you using on the HMI the USB (A) port is to power auxillary devices and for USB drives the Micro port is for set up and programing from another device.  I usualy find it easier to set up over ethernet rather than USB unless I am making an upgrade to the firmware

  Don't Forget about ambient enviorment  some screens are susceptible to low frequency vibration and high amb. temperature the Beijer screens work better there for me especialy thier Marine line but they are more difficult to use and a bit more expensive than the Red lion and EZpanel screens I have also used as low cost alternatives to the Panel View Plus.  Red lion is the easiest to use that I have found so far especialy if you ever need to set up a system with differient controler types and com protocols

you should be able to choose run as administrator to run from windows ten as well I had same issue and this resolved it

with the 753 drive you will need to add an ethernet Card to the drive for comunications if the BOM has some flexability it may be more cost eficient to use 755 drives with built in Enet port however the 753 comes with embeded I/O were as the 755 uses add on cards for I/O so depending on how you are setting up might work out about the same. also either drive is capable of infinite speed control.

Are you sure the program does not have a hidden exit button written in? I think that you have to set up to load CE from the Terminal settings menu with the loaded program shut down so this may not be configured. see Publication 2711p-UM001J-EN-P

to get started create a ladder in CCW with a Modbus MSG instruction, click on it and press the F1 key this will bring up a lot of info on how to use the instruction. the serisol card itself will be added to the processor image in the program and can be set up from there as far data type Baud rate etc.
