  1. Compare command

Hi guys, thanks for your responses. I am using a FX2n with 2 FX2n-4ad's to collect the data. The data goes onto D100,D101,D102,D103 and D104 with the differential going into D105 via an E1101. I have done the software to calibrate the sensors so that they give out an exact depth in millimeters on the E1101, so I know that eveything is working. Basically what I need to do is set M60 when any one of the sensors go out by more than D105, either deeper or shallower. I've never used the sort command, though I have just read the manual, but still cant understand how I could use this in the above situation. Thanks Steve
  2. Comm 1 err

Looking to see if anyone has had the same problem. I'm using various sizes of FX2n and E1101's. I am using a cab19 cut in half with a screened cable in between to lengthen it by up to 20mts. Everything seems to be working fine and then all of a sudden it comes up with a comm error. It can go days/weeks with no problems and then suddenly the comms error comes up. The customer then has to take the power off the E1101 and then power it back up, it will then run fine again with no problems. It has happened on the last 3 jobs only, and we have installed more than 15 of these systems with no problems at all. Any thoughts ? Steve C
  3. Comm 1 err

Thanks Crossbow, In the end I just bought the two plugs (8way mini din and 25way D) and soldered the reisisters and shorts in. Seems to have worked a treat and has no joins in the cable. Thanks Steve C
  4. Comm 1 err

I was under the impression that a cab19 was RS422. It is connected from the RS422 port on the E1101 and goes into the programing port on the FX2n (RS422).
  5. Networking FX2-n

Hi guys, looking for some help/opinions. Done a job with 2 FX2n's connected to an E1101 touch screen. One is connected RS485 and the other RS232 to the E1101. The job has been up and running now for six months with no problems and it is a bit of a show piece job for me. The only thing i would like to do is make the communication faster, as it is really quite slow. Was thinking of putting a FX2NC-ENET-ADP on each PLC and a small hub at the E1101. I have no experience of networking PLC's before although have bit of experience of doing it with PC's. Anyones opinions gratefully accepted. Cheers Steve
  6. Networking FX2-n

Thanks for the reply Guys, Talked to the guy in the new Mitsu office up here in Scotland and he said the reason was distance. I always thought RS232 was within 50mts, but apparently it is 15mts, so they think this is where my problem is. The PLC's are about 40mts away from the E1101. I have ordered 2 of the FX2NC-ENET-ADP from him as these can work at a far greater distance. Hopefully they will work as it will save me about £1400-00 ($2800) not having to replace the FX2N's with the 3's, and a lot of time. Will post when I get them changed over and let you know how they perform. Thanks for all your help. Steve
  7. Cab 19 cables

We had a job recently. Two E1101's 20 yards apart controlling 2 Fx2n's in the same control panel which is 40 yards from the E1101's. We had 8pair screened cable running from both Fx2's to the E1101's. At the control panel I cut 2 cab 19 cables in half and gave my mate 2 halves and told him to go join them up at the E1101's. In turn I joined my two halves onto the 8pair and plugged them into the Fx2's. I then went up to the E1101 and programmed the screen, but no matter what i did i couldn't get comms with the Fx2. Both E1101's were exactly the same. Thinking my mate had made an arse of it i went and checked his connections. Nothing wrong with them. Rechecked the configuration of the E1101's. Anyway after pulling my hair out for 10 hours the problem was this. Cab 19 cables are not the same. IE. the red core goes to pin 1 on one cable but goes to pin 5 on another cable. So if you ever have 2 E1000's on the same job, dont mix the 2 halves of the cab 19 cables. I know it was my fault for taking it for granted that all cat 19's would be the same, but all the same. Steve
  8. E1101 COLOUR SCHEME

HI GUYS, FOR SOME REASON I CANT CREATE A COLOUR SCHEME ON MY VERSION OF EDESIGNER. I AM USING VERSION 7.2 BUILD 245. WHEN PROJECT PROPERTIES COMES UP THE CHANGE BUTTON FOR THE COLOUR SCHEME IS FADED AND CANT BE PRESSED. EVEN IF I CREATE A PROJECT AND GO BACK INTO IT IT STILL CANNOT BE CHANGED. I HAVE BEEN USING THIS SOFTWARE FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS WITH NO TROUBLE BUT A NEW CLIENT WISHES MULTIPLE TEXT COLOURS AND IT IS A PAIN HAVING TO CHANGE THE COLOUR ALL THE TIME. CHEERS GUYS.
  9. Mitsubishi (Beijers) E1101 HMI

I've used about 12 of the E1101 touch screens now without many problems. Mine are all connected to Mitsi FX2-N's though. I did experience a problem similar to yours in that the screen froze, but it also came up and said comm error. It has only happened a couple of times in about a year, and the only way to sort it is to reboot the E1101 and FX2-n. I heard somewhere though that you can change the comms time out to a longer time and it might cure the problem.
