panelview 600 error code 4091

It's been awhile since I have used AB so forgive the rust please.

I have a panelview 600   2711-b6c1, firmware  vo3.15 , using panelbuilder32 ver.3.80.0.0.  rslinx ver. 2.50.00 (cpr7). Connecting using ab-df-1 rs232 serial. 

In rslinx I can see laptop(node 1) and panelview,(node 2). When I try to load a new program to pv. It goes thru first couple steps but then I get error code 4091. panelview is not connected to plc. The pv has an existing program in it and in communication setup it has remote I/o as comms. I wanted to reset it to factory default but it has no reset button on it and when I try the f8 key it takes me to the choose language screen and from there the only key that works is the f10 exit key. Can someone help an oldtimer out, I'm sure its something easy I have forgotten. Thanks for any and all help.
