Plc Communication

HELLO: I HAVE A PLC OF AB MICRO LOGICS 1000, THE PROGRAM FOR THIS PLC IS IN DOS MODE. WHEN I CONNECT THE 220VOLTS SUPPLY TO PLC , AND THE SERIAL PORT IN PC AND PROGRAMMING PORT IN PLC. THEN I MY RESART MY COMPUTER IN DOS MODE , WHEN I TRY TO MAKE AN ONLINE WITH PLC , THEN AN ERROR COME WRITTEN THAT "COMUNICATION PROBLEM "WHAT SHOULD I THEN DO. HOW MAY I ONLINE MY PLC. THANKS
