  1. UDT's in Proficy Machine Edition

Hi I am putting together a PLC project using Proficy - PLC (V7.0 Sim 9) I have decided to use UDT's for my drive memory structure. After nesting some UDT's I have found the validation, opening, closing and downloading times have started to get noticeably longer (over 1 minute) Just wonder if any body has found the same and if anything can be done to reduced the compile time? Have I missed a property switch somewhere? Regards
  2. Series Six CPU Stopping

I have a series six unit that is faulting. The CPU is going into going into stop and will stay there until the run/stop key switch is toggled. I have replaced all the cards in the CPU rack including the memory & power supply. The problem has settled down but is still occurring once every 24 to 48 hours! Once the CPU could be access by the programmer and the following was reported: CPU Error Flags: 11110100 01000011 10010001 00000000 IO Status Table Parity Error:0043 The series six fault documentation is a little thin in the description on this error? Can anybody elaborate on this fault for me or have any other suggestions?
  3. RX7I IO Rack Problems

GE Fanuc has just confirmed a problem with the processor.
  4. RX7I IO Rack Problems

Hi I have just replaced a 90-70 CPU rack with a RX7i rack (600MHz CPU and associated cards). This PLC has 7 IO racks which have remained the same. I have replaced several PLC’s like this over the past 2 years with no problems, however none of these have this much amount of local IO. I am having a problem of IO dropping out and no faults are being logged in the PLC or IO Fault table. Needless I have had many conversations with the local GE Fanuc people. There has been lots of suggestions like ensure version numbers are correct, replace IO rack cables and the like. However no real progress! Also this new platform works well for the first 8 to 24 hours after a power reset, when this problem occurs the scan time dropped from ~8 ms to ~ 4 ms. My question is has any body herd or seen this before? The 90-70 CPU is back in and has been running OK for a week now! Tank
  5. Ge fanuc 90 series

Just to Add In the PLC you should not write to a input table with any comms (except with genius IO like stave said). If you are using snp to write to a input table then the status might be getting their but the next PLC scan it would be overwritten by the real IO. Just a thought
  6. Gas flow totalizer

m3/h is Meter Cubed per hour I understand? Some more information on the meter is needed. I am in the Material Handling area. For example our weighto-meters (belt weighers) give two separate outputs TPH (Tonnes per Hour) which is a 4-20mA signal and a separate single which is a tonnes pulse which can be accumulated by our control system. A "Quantity Per time" calculation is an integral based calculation that says to it self, "If I am measuring this volume for this instant of time then I can multiply it by X to get an average for an hour" (much summarised description). The problem with these calculations is you don't know over what time base that actual calculation is being performed.
  7. Hi Very new to Modicon, used to other PLC for some time. How would I go about finding the scan time of a Quantum PLC using Proworx NXT. I have a fast input 4 to 10 HZ and would like to know if the PLC is quick enough to pick up the state changes? The PLC is running loads of logic. Cheers
  8. PME 5.5 Delete a Variable First?

Deleting Used Variables - I think this is breaking the rules what processor are you using? I know that the RxXi series of processors are primarily OPC based engines. i.e. The processors are happy to run with only having tags declared; these tags do not have to be assigned to a particular address only type (INT, WORD, BOOL) eg. In a 90-70 if you need a temp register you would generally assign it to a %L. In Rx7i just declare a tag called "Junk", declare it as type INT and that it. No more address juggling. I understand that PME was written with OPC in mind, their for variable names "Tags" is how it joins the program together not by specific addresses. Deleting a used variable in PME is like using a coil in LM90 with out assigning an addressed bit to it.
  9. Proficy 5.0 to 5.5

When going from CME (Proficy) 5.0 to.5.5 should the PLCs be stoped and reloaded or can this be done on the run. This is using the RX7i platforms. Cheers Tank
  10. Comparing RX7i Logic PLC files

Just got beck from Holidays Thanks for comments.. will give them a try
  11. Comparing RX7i Logic PLC files

Hi This has probably been asked before however I cannot find any reference to it in the fourm I have two Proficy V5.5 RX7i programs (actually from the same PLC on different dates). I want to compare them to highlight any difference in them. What is the best way to do this? I don't have access to a spare PLC at the moment and don't want to put either copy on the server manager. I want to compare two programs just using the Logic Developer – PLC interface? Can this be done? or third party utility? Cheers
  12. Cme Access Control

Thanks Smoke I will try to look at the "inspector" & "CM" module when I get back to site. After 8 e-mail and replies from Tech support you have given me more to go on than GE. Cheers
  13. Cme Access Control

PLC Passwords I think I have a handle on. These were available in logicmaster and set in the CPU. However. I am talking about setting up the Manager software in CME. I have 10 or so people that all have to log into CME prior to accessing any PLC on site. With CME manager software different access levels can be setup for each user (as I understand it). This is done by configuring different groups each with their own level of access and then assigning these groups to users? These groups are then added to each PLC project on site? What I am finding is no matter what I do each group can only have "All" access or "Monitor" access. I want to have some users with say Force and Data Change access only? Can this be done? Cheers.
  14. Cme Access Control

Has any body used CME (Proficy) Ver 5.00 Manager with Logic Developer PLC. I am trying to configure about 10 different people with 3 different access groups. In manager I configure the following: Group 1 is assigned Level 1 access to PLC (Monitor Only) Group 2 is assigned Level 2 access (Write Data) Group 3 is assigned Level 4 access (All) In logic developer the PLC is configured for level 4 access (Allow all levels to access PLC) The result is that Group 3 has "all" access OK, However the other groups can only get monitor access only. I want to give some personal restricted access? Does anybody else get the same results? or can help? I have had on going to and fro with tech support. With out much luck.
  15. Load Error

Hi I have had the same problem (with 90-70) during the week setting up a desk top PLC for some engineers to play with. This may be your problem. Up & Downloading will result in a comms drop out once commenced. I have contacted to local GE Vendor who supplied me with a upgrade for LM90 (I think it is ver 10.03) for 90-30 and ver 7.05 for 90-70's. The last LM90 upgrade had a specific patch (DLL's and such) for win200 and later OS's Try you local vendor. Cheers
