1. Make sure the scanner did work well by PC and hyperterminal or some software else. 2. Note that the PLC'S RS232 Port can receive the ASC2 Character Stream and It's port setting need to be same with the scanner's setting strictly: baud, Data bit, stop bit. 3. take look at RA's knowledge base ,that may make some help.

My system need to use the information in the ORACLE database,Controllogix got the characters in the DB,and pass them to pannelview. I am in China,so i use the ZHS16GBK characterset in the db,which is a double byte characterset.it is fit for the panelview multilanguage display requirement. I also do corresponding language setup in the pannelbuilder and plug in the corresponding language ATA Card into the panelview. But the panelview still can not show the Characters from DB ,except the characters i input at the period of panelbuilder programming.what is up? My question is weather the PANELVIEW support the Character that is update dynamically from other datasource such as database.
