i ran into this one time and i had similar problems. i had to uninstall the serial port and let windows find it again. the micrologix has to be plugged in and powered up before the driver can autoconfig. but one big thing was that the BIOS was set up by the IT guys to disable the ports. after enabling i still had to reinstall the port for some reason

My AB tech support is Mrplc.com. i work for a company now where we only have 4 employees and a very small buisness owned by an individual. AB tech support contract is out of the question for us, we simply do not have the operating capitol of a big company to warrant having it. yes we would love to pay for and have a support contract but we like many other small buisnesses just simply cant afford it.

hi all, is there anything that will kill the smell of gas? i spilled quite a bit from a jug into the car and a shampoo machine cant reach all the spots, thanks David

thanks for the replys, i will try just about anything at this point. the wife and kids do not like the odor no more than i do.

just a suggestion but i have gotten parts from EBAY in an emergency faster than a supplier. don't know if some companies allow it but my case my employer just cut me a check to reimburse me the same day with a big thanks to boot. that will definitely get your distributors attention.

you may try putting a resistor across the pot itself. some pots used for heavier loads back in the days of antiques would need a very slight load on them to see an actual voltage drop from the wiper. but use caution and start with a very high resistance

hello fellow guru's here is my issue rsview is giving an error when trying to install saying "not enough disk space on target drive". went to AB KB and it says unlock the desktop. how do i unlock the desktop? if it is the one under desktop > properties > desktop tab > customise desktop > web tab.. then it isnt locked.......here is the AB KB on the error which is totaly useless E105853870 - "Not enough disk space on target drive while attempting to copy files" Cause: Desktop Lock was enabled when RSView32 was being installed. Solution: Disable Desktop Lock, then install RSView32. using windows xp pro sp2 and rsview32 7.10

sound as though we are in the same boat hakko. i just dont understand why it reacts differently on two pc's that are pretty much identical. but as i have learned in the past, sometimes the only way to get the desired results is to indeed start fresh with everything. good luck to you hakko. and thanks to you guys for trying to help

everything else i install seems to work fine ... i have tried everything i know except reinstall windows and make rsview the first thing to go on it....i wished rockwell would give a little bit better info on this...maybe some one else has seen this before and will tell us the secretto make it install. david

Hello Ken, my screen saver is disabled and anything that would interupt installation should be off. there is approx 25 gigs of free space so i know i have the room. and it stops in the same place every time on the percent bar. i doesnt do this on an identical computer. an older version (6.5 ) does the same thing on this specific computer. i wonder what could be the difference in this one and the other computer, that is stopping it from installing on this one? thanks david

Try jameco they have tons of connectors, even the pins to go in them. but requst a catlog because they do not show everything on the web for some reason. good luck!!!!!!!!! here is a female of what i think you are asking for

hello fellow plc guru's i have been playing with the MSG instruction and think i have got the communication down but my question is this how do adress the interger file. say if i have 1 slc with an input true and i want to tell the other plc that the input is true how do i do this? i have two slc 5/04 processors communicating via dh+

well i aint to shure that i am asking the right questions. if i understand this correctly "By moving the read of the master controller to a write message in the slave controller I reduced my message time (one read and write) by up to 50 percent" ...was it that you have 2 read and 2 write ins and now you are eliminating 1 read and 1 write ins or am i just totally confused and have no hope...lol

Well now.... that is quite interesting. i think i may try this out once i get a little more comfy with the way it all works.i need to study up on my instuction set a little more but it gets boring to quick setting behind the screen . does any one know if you can still get the paper back version of the slc instruction set? but any way back to the point at hand, the thing that will probably will mess it up for me is if you are just reading how do you make the states of a a bit actually change with out writing the info to some type of file? but i will study a little more on this before i start asking to many stupid questions, i am not sure that i understand the whole thing fully just yet

if you have to use a full computer with an operating system you may want check out symtec's "p.c.anywhere" it will allow you to remotely control a pc so you can leave off everything such as monitor mouse etc depending on your computers BIOS

first let me thank you all for not giving up on me. I AM NOW COMMUNICATING wooohoooo (sorry kinda excited) i had everything right except for my interger files for read and write instructions were reversed i think............ i deleted the other msg ins. and got down to the bare minimum to make just oneway comms and it worked. once i figured out how it worked it seemed kinda simple thank you guys

greetings all, twcontrols, i changed my channels to 1 and tried it and i do not know if it is working or not. this is why i say i do not know if its working. the incoming cmd pending s:2/5 and msg reply pending s:2/6 under processor status>channel 1 on both slc's blinks a 1 every few seconds. does this mean it is indeed communicating but i still have something else wrong. i am moving b15:0 to n13:0 to be sent to the other plc i have 1's in the n13 which leads me to believe that i am close but the n11 in the other plc is not showing any ones. thanks for your time twcontrols
