C++ and PLC

Hi everybody! Im realitively new to this plc stuff. java script:emoticon('', 'smid_16') I would like to control a V7 omron freq. inverter with Sysmac CJ1M CPU21 PLC( SCU41-V1 communication card) trough visual C++. As i understand the hostlink protocol with fins commands would be the thing to use. But i dont understand where exactly i write theese FINS commands and how i get a communication beetwen C++ and PLC trough COM1. I am a bit more familiar with cx-proggramer so i wanna know do i also need cx-proggramer,as i read that this FINS commands work trough SEND REC and CMND instructions. Chekc out the download section for Omron --- u should be able to find a host link demo in visual basic which should guve you some good pointers
